I always enjoyed working in shops, on the market and anything interacting with the public, in what way do you think its repetitive?

I'm not sure what you mean by feeling you need a more respectful job, or why working in a shop isnt respectful.

I've worked in several offices, sometimes it can be great, sometimes it is very solitary, it depends on the office and the environment, sorry I cant be of more help with that one!

No that's good, thanks Zaf. I was assuming bar work would be repetitive, i dont know why though i guess. I have no bar experience though. I didnt mean to offend you by suggesting that working in a shop is an unrespectful job. They weren't my words. Its just the rest of my family are in high up positions etc in business and it just doesnt appeal to me. Thanks a lot for your contribution, its really made me think of what I should with my life for the new year.

Look for something you will enjoy, or you think you will, you might find it difficult to find bar work if you have no experience but thats no reason not to try.  Dont worry what your family do or will think of you, your happiness is much more important imo, I had some very lowly jobs for about the first 10 years of my working life and many of them I enjoyed immensely, I've also had a couple of high up positions that I have absolutely hated and one was the major cause of my first breakdown
