Comfort
« on: November 17, 2011, 03:00:26 PM »
Let's all list 5 things that bring us comfort/makes us happy despite the depression.
Mine are (in no particular order):

-Hot baths (especially if I use products from Lush!)
-Coffee (although I have to drink decaff these days...)
-Reading
-Eating!!! (love it)
-Getting an email from my best friend (even though she lives in Canada and I the UK...)

Thank goodness for these things, what are yours?

I tried meditation a number of years ago when I was going through my Buddhist phase.
It is very relaxing. But these days I really find it hard to shut my mind down to the point of relaxation to get into that meditative state.

These days I find a good book can help me relax.
I was into playing music for a while, but when my band split up, I've lost that motivation.
I still pick up my guitar and bass from time to time, and when I do, I enjoy it. But as there is no real end result (i.e. playing music that people will hear) i don't have the same motivator that I had.

I'll definitely go with the hot bath with Lush products,  if I can muster the will power a gentle stroll on a sunny day in the woods, anything creative if I can muster the will power,  its just getting started I find problems with....

I like the hot bath too.... but with radox rather than lush as the lush stuff plays havoc with my asthma!
