Hello

Hi. Just joined the forum.

Recently been diagnosed for the umpteenth time with clinical depression. I would never Have thought that it could manifest itself in such physical pain, it not having affected me in this way before. But I suppose when you analyse it logically it all makes sense. Now on Citalopram which hasn't kicked in properly yet, but know it will having been on it before.

hey and welcome

hopefully the meds kick in soon for you
If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination.

hi cazzy, everyone here will help you as much as they can,  its been a lifeline for me and wish I had found it sooner too.  Ive had depression on and off since the 90's and am back on the citralopram again, this time the doctor has suggested I need to take it long term, possibly for the rest of my life....

Welcome Crazzy
I am on Citalopram probably for life like Zaf. Di XX

I think I will probably be now. It's happened so many times, but this time it crept up on me out of nowhere and so suddenly, and affected me with physical pain and exhaustion in the first instance. I thought there was some other health issue I was going to have to deal with. Then the depression set in proper and it became a vicious circle.

I have no wish to come off it now if this is going to happen again. Was on it 5 years up until last year, when I was on a bit of a health kick, and decided to wean myself off with the doc's help. Really wish I hadn't done it now.

Many thanks everybody for the welcome.  :)

Thats what happened to me this time Cazzy, usually I could feel the symptoms creeping up but this time it was very sudden and more severe than usual, I had been off the meds for about 4-5 months and feeling fine then in the space of about 3 weeks went suddenly downhill :(

I'm probably resigned now at being on a low dose for the foreseeable future but I also want to try to control it by managing my life better if I possibly can and have found counselling particularly helpful this time
