Hi Un_important. Please try not to read the leaftlet in too much depth. They HAVE to print every one in a trillion bizzare side effect possible on these things and half of them are not related to the meds themselves but rather symptoms of peoples depression that could neither be ruled in or out. Please don't scare yourself with all that. And also just because a medication can be used as an anti psychotic doesn't mean that's what your psych is treating you for. I am a medical professional and we sometimes treat a rare bone disorder with renne's antacid tablets!!!!! Sounds daft but there is a very real reason for it! I urge any of you, if you have been prescribed something after consultation with your Dr you DO FOLLOW THROUGH. Please. these are professional people who understand the pharmacokinetics of your condition far better than we ever could.
you can beat this. Please trust in your Drs

I think the same,  you should follow the medical advice you have been given or go back to the doctor to speak to him about it

If you feel that you did not get the chance to express enough of how you feel and she has got the wrong end of the stick I urge you to please go back to her and discuss this with her. She might have mistaken something you have said and needs to be corrected. Even though we are aware that GPs/consults have time limits, please NEVER leave a consultation feeling like there has been a miscommunication. If however you feel like you managed to articulate how you feel and what your personal crisis entails and you feel she understood, then please follow her advice. again, the side effects on the packet are to be taken a little bit with a pinch of salt. If you have a heart condition and you know that your GP knows this, then trust that your particular condition wont be effected by this medication, if however you feel she might now know about this then please go back and rediscuss this with her. You can ask her "why am I taking this when it says this wont that do the opposite?" She will be able to explain. Even just for your own peace of mind, if you need to make another appointment to rediscuss the whole darn thing with her then do that at your earliest opportunity. Drs know that things need time to sink in. You are entitled to use the facilities available to you. It's what you pay your tax for after all!

A pill wont give you a life, friends, boyfriend, job or money but could help you to feel more able to get these things for yourself. Please don't give up. This is very difficult for you. It can get better if you use the help you are being given. Think about it some more. You don't have to do anything until you feel ready.

anti psychotics arent a bad thing, they really help me, please just give them a chance.  but raise your concerns about them and please make sure they know about your medical health, i urge you to go back as soon as you can and TELL them to look at your medical history.

also dont read too much into the bit of paper that comes with meds, i wont sugar coat it, the side effects arent nice but normally most of them go after about 3 weeks(can be 2-6 weeks) and then you will start to notice a diffrence.

mainly i just think a pill wont give me a life... ill still have no friends... no bf.... and job... and the psychiatrist knows nothin about my health... and money is an issue here..

no it wont give you these things but it will help you to get them once they start working

you may not get that side effect.  yeah your going to have a few start up issues with the medication but dont fear them, they will help you in the long run, please just give them a chance.

i may not be very active on here at the moment but i check on here pretty often so if you ever need a chat then feel free to send me a message on here. i might not be much help but i will try my best.

well that doesn't sound too good, i really think u need to talk to her about your concerns,  anti psychotics shouldn't really be used just to gain weight.
have you taken your A.D. ??
just noticed what u said about the SOS ones, what are they ?.

just remember we all care about you and know what your going through to a certain extent.   try reading zafs post in the lounge about google this. its worth reading
