Hi
« on: September 10, 2011, 06:07:37 PM »
Hi My Name is Karen and I live in North Ayrshire, Scotland.

I am 34 and had depression since I was 21 and been on just about ever type of medication you could think of, including herbal when I tried to cope on my own.
I have 2 sons (Jordan 12, Jayden-Jack 5) My depression was triggered they think when I gave birth and the post natal depression evolved because I didnt get it treated.
I get very very low at times and my motivation is non existent. Today for example went to my bed at 5am and have only got out of bed at 6pm :( My partner (the boys dad) is great he helps loads especially when I am having a dark day.
Anyway hope speaking to people who understand will help xx

Hi Karen, it certainly does help to be able to 'talk' to people that understand :)

Hi Karian

I am not sure why but I start to feel better later on - 7 or 8pm.(not always) but I can just stay in bed all day like you, the thing is that I can sleep all day too, and I still sleep at night. AGHHHHHHHHHHH  >:( it is awful but I just can't face/cope and have no motivation.
I think speaking to the right people helps a lot, as you can get very isolated, which I don't think is good.
There are people on here who have more understanding of the condition than me, sure they will have good advice for you and just talking about it on here as helped me a lot.
You have 2 lovely sons ( like me but mine are grown up now with their own families)and I love seeing the grandchildren, that's what keeps me going.
Hope that's what keeps you going too.
Thinking of you
Keep hopeful, try and get help. I know it's hard
Hugs ^&^

Thankyou Depina

I am blessed with to beautiful and healthy children, on bad days it is hard to see light at the end of the tunnel
but on good days I can see glimmers of a future so i try to keep that in mind. I am trying to get some help, I saw my gp in dec 2010
and was referred for the first time to the mh team, saw my psychiatrist in january (although he is useless) was also referred to an occupational therapy
my psychiatrist is now happy to leave me with her, as much as I trust her, i dont feel she alone can get me back on my feet.
My boys do keep me fighting forward but it isnt easy on bad days x Thanks again x
