Hello on this gloriously &$%+ty day!
« on: July 24, 2011, 11:45:09 AM »
I'm new to this board. I'll give you a summary about myself:
Male, 23, uni grad working in a supermarket.
Never had a girlfriend, the people who I thought were my friends are always too 'busy' to do anything (but I'm starting to take the hint).
For the above reasons I'm sitting on my laptop whilst it's gloriously sunny outside because I've nothing to or anybody to do anything with.
I'm about 40lbs overweight. I never get any kind of 'break'.
Whilst I've not being diagnosed as deppressed (never spoke to anyone about it), my sleeping is erratic, I get mad at the slightest thing and I just
constantly feel let down, sad and worthless. I must be doing something wrong or I'm really that one person that no one wants anything to do with.

Hi

I'm sure others will say the same, my advice is to go to your GP as your symptoms scream clinical depression to me (a sufferer for over 20 years), depression isnt something we can fight on our own; it needs medication, psychotherapy or a change of lifestyle, or a combination of two or all of these.

on the bright side you've recognised you have a problem which is a very important start, do try to see a doctor for the next step to recovery

Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture your heart.

hey and welcome
my advice is the same as zafs, get your self to your gp as soon as you can, depression is not something you can just ignore, help is out there.
If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination.

hiya kidder. first step is get yourself to your gp as the others have recommended as it sounds as if you are definitely suffering with depression, and the next time its a glorious day and your on your laptop, look up as many sites as you can on depression, arm yourself with as much information as you can as it will help you defeat the dreaded monster that is depression. there are friends and there are friends, and as you get older you will be able to differentiate between true friends and fair weather friends. its the quality of the friend, not the quantity, take care fella
