pregnant!

Hi over the weekend I have just found out that I am pregnant. It is not the best of times as I am in a pretty dark place at the moment. I have always wanted children but this just seems like the worst time. Me and my Fiance aren;t living together at the moment and there is lots of complications around that. It all seems too  much. Has anyone got any advice or been through pregnancy while being depressed? Thanksx

I had a work colleague who got pregnant (while suffering from depression) and it was really good for her, she seemed to be a different woman with a real focus and optimistic outlook..... What does your partner think?

Hi Em...

I think what D2006 said really does ring true for a lot of people - if you are pregnant you have the responsibility of that and you can really focus on the pregnancy and building yourself up for having a baby. Do you have a good support network around you? I think this would be vital, but I am also sure your doctor and other health proffesionals will be able to help you through everything.

Hi, thanks so much for your replies. I hope that would be the case with me and I can get significantly better within 9 months. I'm just scared what if I don't, is that a good way to bring up a baby?
My partner isn't too sure on this he thinks it will be too much for me and things will only  get worse. I have my Mum around but she's not getting any younger and a few friends.

I know I'm new to this site, but why don't you keep posting and get encouragement and support from us all here. I have three kids and although I'm not well, they are lifes wonderful things.  :)
