Storm Dennis is due to hit the UK with weather warnings in place over the next five days with snow, rain, ice, and wind.  Sunday is set to be the worst day as the amber weather warnings cover England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  The Met Office has issued the alerts as the country recovers from Storm Ciara just days ago.  The warnings began at 2 am today with a warning that snow may cause travel disruption until 11 am in Carlisle, Penrith, and surrounding areas.  Forecasters also said rural communities could be cut off and power cuts could occur along with loss of phone signal.  Further north in Dumfries and Lockerbie, and the southern Scotland area has a weather warning for rain between 9 am and 5 pm which is likely to affect train and bus services.  The Met Office warns that spray and flooding may lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures.  On Saturday rain and wind warning cover vast swathes of the country from 9 am until midnight.  In the east Storm Dennis will bring strong winds over with disruption to travel expected is likely across parts of England and Wales.  The warning is overlapped between noon and 9 pm with a warning for rain in the west of England and Wales.  Some communities are expected to be cut off by flooded roads and power cuts and loss of other services are likely to homes and businesses.  Southern Scotland has its own weather warning in place for both wind and rain, with flooding to homes and businesses "likely" between 9 am and 6 pm.  By Sunday the entire country is under warnings for the majority of the day, and by Monday only Scotland will still be feeling the effects as Storm Dennis leaves.  Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill told Sky News: "Whilst it's going to be very windy, they do look like they will be a touch down to what we saw with Storm Ciara.  The unsettled weather won't subside massively any time soon."
