stopping escitalopram
« on: December 24, 2014, 07:02:25 PM »
Hi, I am looking for some suggestions. I have been on escitalopram for two months, only two weeks on 10mg. I am getting more and more unwanted symptoms. I cannot stand sleeplessness. Also I had severe nausea and stomach, intestines cramps. Also sweating more and more, even in a cold weather. I am worried I may get my somatic conditions worse. And also, I seem to be more anxious!

Any suggestions? Anybody stopped antidepressant after so short use?

I need my life back...

I know, it is Xmas, but I cannot stop thinking...

I have done some reading and it looks that I can expect some symptoms I already have anyway.
GP NICE guideline states that discontination syndromes with SSRIs- generally symptoms begin within 24-72 hours of stopping the drug and last approximately 1-2 weeks
most common discontination symptoms are nausea, dizziness, headache and lethargy; other symptoms that may occur include paraesthesia, 'shock-like' sensations, anxiety, tremor, balance problems, nightmares, insomnia and sweating...

Yes, this is very optimistic...I am now 2 months on a dose of 2.5mg...I will make further decrease when I will stabilise on this one...I still get paresthesia in both hands, and I am exhausted
