Help!
« on: August 04, 2014, 09:42:06 PM »
Hi, I posted back in March saying I thought my depression was back and boy was I right! April saw me break :( I've only just gone back to work full time and am back on my medication and finally getting some counselling which is independent but organised through a program at work.

This is my third time being on medication, but this time feels like it's come double strength! My anxiety has been awful (never really suffered badly with it before) my stress which I know is work related is hard to manage and my depression is all over the place!

I don't know which bit to focus on first!!!

Any advice ...... please???

Hello Els,

I believe that your medication and counselling will not only help for depression but also anxiety. Knowing that your stress is related to your work, especially now that you're working full time .... probably any changes are related to your colleagues which sometimes there is little to do about. What can change can maybe your outlook an couselling could be very beneficial for this.
In my experience battling with depression, I have to make sure that I'm getting the right meds and the right dosage, hence a good relationship, or rather working hand in hand with my pdoc.
It is hard to say where to focus first but I think that once the meds start doing their job and you start feeling better, you find that can handle your life better, or seeing more its positive points.

I don't know if this can help!! Let us know how you're doing!

It's worth persevering and worth being honest with your GP who can in turn see what else could help.

Hi Els,
Imdeed, as Pip says keep ypor doc in the loop, having a doc that listens is aleays good.
unfortunatlu depression and anxiety can augment each other, there are plenty of meds around and sometimes a combination of two or three medes is what helps best
