Just a brief little piece on the possibility of a pregnant woman who is depressed at the time in some way passing on wiring abnormalities in the Amygdala,
in their child. This is a structure in the brain that possibly links to depression. One sentence I found particularly dispiriting.

"This finding suggests a history of maternal depression might contribute to a lifelong increase in the vulnerability to mental illness."

So screen pregnant women and treat those who are depressed. I don't see that happening.
