Forum noob...
« on: February 25, 2014, 10:27:27 PM »
So I keep getting told depression forums are a friendly and supportive way of discussing the joys of what it's like to live with depression, and not get judgement from people... I finally decided to sign up after my best and only remaining supportive friend decided to cut me out just as my depression was taking a turn for the worse, after hitting a low point in my life.
I'm now in full-tilt major depression, and I've started getting anxiety attacks which are stopping me from sleeping, and the odd random suicidal thoughts when I'm not paying attention. So I thought it best to give this a go and talk to people going through the same thing in the hopes it might help.

Welcome Reine,

The members here are friendly, will give advice when they can and just as importantly will be supportive.  I know from personal experience that it's not easy to talk about how I am feeling so just take your time.  People who don't suffer with depression don't understand what it is like to live with it yet depression is a real illness as you know so it does help to have contact with people who do understand.

Hi Reine, welcome to the forume
we are a friendly bunch here and always willing to chat on any topic you want.

Having said that, have you told your doc about your depression, that is the first place to start, as they can try one of many antidepressents, even a referal to a specialist.
