Don't give up!
« on: June 22, 2013, 08:29:04 PM »
I know you've probably heard this 1,000 times before, but things do get better!

I have been through some horrendous times over the past 8 months and was close to ending it all, but things have got better even though I didn't think they would :) For me it was possibly the meds change I've had- the escitalopram made me even more depressed and coming off it was the best thing I've ever done. I'm now so happy, much better than I've been for the past few years, I'm finally loving life again and hope it stays this was for a very long time

Hang in there, I know it's tough, but you can do it!

Glad to hear you're doing better Freya :)

Sometimes changing medication can make a huge difference, it did for me when I went from Citalopram to Venlafaxine. It's like night and day!

Long may it last! :D

Thanks very much for posting such an UP message. Hearing good things always helps. It's nice to hear that things are going forwards. Long may this continue.  :happy0158: Best wishes. Michael.  :bye:

Bit similar for me.  Citalopram stopped working, was almost like a sugar pill, but you can certainly know the difference when switching to venlafaxine.

Thanks for the info about the results of changing from Citalopram.  :happy0158: I've had doubts about it for a long time, and think I'll ask my GP again. Best wishes.  :bye:

Venlafaxine is a good drug as long as you don't forget to take it.  I have found that with every increase my mood drops for a few days, but like all these meds you have to persevere.

All the best
