I hope you find people to talk to here Wendy. I too suffer from osteoarthritis, though in my knees. I really understand how it can grind you down. At first my GP wasn't too inclined to give me painkillers that actually worked. But things were so bad that I had to keep going back. She would reluctantly give me something a little stronger each time until finally we arrived at something that worked. I hope you find something that suits you. I have recently been referred to a Pain Clinic. Do you have one of those in your area ?

Going back to talking to people here, keep posting. A lot of people seem to start and then give up quite quickly. Take care of yourself.

Love

Other times I can barely see
Lately it occurs to me
What a long, strange, trip it's been

Hi Wendy.  I think you'll find that this site is one of the best for being able to talk without fear of judgement.  I hope it helps by writing your thoughts down, it does for me.  I also find going out very difficult, mainly from paranoia.

All the best

Hi Wendy,

Friday is one of my busy days as I help out with a lunch club so haven't had a chance to get onto the forums until this evening.  Osteoarthritis is painful to live with and I have it in my ankles, back and hands including my fingers.  Like Steve has said stick around and you will get support.  My husband suffers with depression as well as me so it is helpful having other members on the forums who actually understand what it is like.

Hello Wendy. Welcome to the forums. We're quite a mixed bunch here, but I'm afraid that the problems of depression are common to us all. This is a good place to share whatever's going on, without fear of ever being judged. I'm sure that you will be able to find care and support here. Best wishes.  :bye:

Hi Wendy,

You've made a great move by coming here, the community here have helped me beyond measure :)

There are always people, young and old, who want to help you, I'm only 24 myself and I'm sorry to hear you've found yourself in such a bad place. Sadly depression strikes out of the blue and without warning. Don't be afraid to speak your mind and tell us what has been happening.

What precisely are you afraid of when you go out? Don't be worried if you don't know or can't verbalise it, that's very common, just try your best to describe it.

Just remember that even if it seems like nobody cares and nobody is there t help, you can always come and talk to us  *()

Hi Wendy, welcome to the forums.
having constant back pain on top of everything else is hard to deal with, i guess you are on some painkillers for your back.
