What are you doing tonight Hogmanay 2012???

For the first time in years I'm indoors on my own and enjoying every last minute of 2012.  Yes, I'm having a glass of cider with the obligatory crisps and salted nuts!!

It has been a year of sorrow but not much laughter.  I discovered recovery; previously life had become one long depression with no light to guide the way. Today, that light disappears from time to time.  I've just come out of a very bad bout of depression.  Each time the disappointment from falling from my road to recovery becomes all the more intense and difficult to get over.

Every New Year's eve holds some optimism for a better future.  Will this be the year when I finally find a way past living life so crippled by depression?  This will be my 50th year.... maybe life begins at 50 because it certainly didn't at 40, that was really when the worst of my troubles began.

To everyone who has been a big part of my life during this past year, I wish you peace and good health for 2013.

Happy New Year everyone.

I had a good night, spend it with friends and they all stayed over so I'm with them all now. Makes me wonder why I feel depressed when I have so many fantastic people in my life.

Onwards and upwards I guess  =+-

Well, at last the festivities are over and we can all give a huge sigh of relief and look forward to the lighter nights and the clocks changing in March.

My mood has now completely changed, thank God.  It's a good start to what I hope will be a better year for recovery.

Certianly a sigh of relief here and a tentative resolution to not make the same mistakes I made last year.
