Citalopram is working nicely and cool side-effect
« on: December 07, 2012, 02:01:49 PM »
I've been on citalopram now since August/September and it's really helped with my depression/anxiety. I used to find that one triggered the other but now the extremes are much less severe and I am not a slave to my moods. I still feel like myself (which is great) and I know I'm not perfect but I think I'm in a good place to progress.

Anyway, I often go out on Thursday night and usually have to put off my dose by about 12 hours. I find that this withdrawal gives me the most ridiculously vivid dreams. So vivid that they feel more real than the waking world. This is something that interests me so I'm going to try taking them in the mornings instead of at night to see if I can use this. Has anybody had this while on Citalopram?

Yes, Citalopram gave me very vivid and fascinating dreams.  I still get them now on a different AD, but only occasionally and never as fascinating.

Only getting them rarely but I reckon I'd have more if I got back in to my Lucid Dreaming obsession. Wonderful things can be done in dreams; in terms of self-discovery and also creativity, I just haven't yet managed to stabilise them.

Depending on what I am talking, my dream states tend to vary, but they are always lucid. When I was very depressed they were frequently painful. Oddly, I never dream of my work.

I was on Citalopram for 2 years (60mg) and that was something I definately noticed with it - very vivid, very odd dreams

Not bad dreams mind, just a bit "trippy"  =+-

Years ago i used to be able to have lucid dreams now and again. I hadn't for years untill reacently. I've been on citralopram for 5 or 6 weeks now and my dreams have been really vivid. I have to agree.... a very cool side-effect, and i'd say the best side-effect i've had from taking them
