I also used to have a couch as well in my room,    remember even used to have a kettle, mini fridge, toaster  in my room as well at some point .

BEFORE YOU ACT, LISTEN
BEFORE YOU REACT, THINK
BEFORE YOU SPEND, EARN
BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE, WAIT
BEFORE YOU PRAY, FORGIVE

BEFORE YOU QUIT, TRY

Oh I love it, reminds me of when I was still living at home with my parents except there were two single beds and I used the spare one as a settee $%$ ^&^

It reminds me of a couple of apartments I had when I lived in Canada - I felt safe, but had I really coccooned myself to avoid the outside world? It was during that period of my life when I first found out how my head was working against me and has been doing since my teenage years.

When I first saw this picture I saw myself 20 years ago. Do you find it is good to have a hideaway? Is it, in fact, a hideaway? Does anyone other than you ever go to that room?

Thank you for not thinking I was being negative about your room - I just remember decades of doing everything i could to avoid everything but the one place I felt safe. I have shelves of movies and music and very few people ever went to that safe place except me. It's fantastic having a safe place (a hideaway) where you and your thoughts are uninterrupted, secret and 'all yours' regardless what people think is normal or right.

Who gives a poop what normal is - perhaps we are normal. Perhaps we who like our safe space are, in fact, the most normal of everyone. Some of the most successful, creative, warm, loving, giving people have had minds like ours...

I'm waffling because I'm in a low place right now... Sorry.

I'm very nosy so I loved seeing your pad.  My whole flat is my pad; my safe haven... my cave.  I do all the computer stuff in the kitchen, telly and reading in the living room and chilling with music or radio in the bedroom.  Like you, it has been witness to good and very bad times.  I've lived here longer than anywhere in my entire life and have difficulty imagining not being here.
