I was sure I’d posted this earlier, but can’t seem to see it on the Forum. Sorry if I’m repeating myself. Thankfully I wrote it in word. Whenever I write a long post on the Forum, sometimes it can get lost. Many times, I’ve got to the end of my “essayâ€, touched a wrong button and wham….my realms of words have vanished. So, if it’s anything other than a quick reply, I usually write on word first. Here goes…
As a continuation to my previous post on religion…..
So, my years away from the Church have lead me into reading about all other beliefs; sort of adopting an “inter-faithâ€, I believe it’s called. Reincarnation is just one of my new-found beliefs
Years ago I was very interested in the meaning of dreams, particularly in relation to interpretation of our dreams and the possibility of experiencing memories of past lives, stored away somewhere in our subconscious.
When I underwent Group Therapy, the Therapist was also into dreams and was always fascinated by mine, which are often ‘night-terrors’ (related to PTSD). Each one of my dreams were different, but always situated in and surrounding this very old seaside village. The villa type houses line the narrow cobbled streets. I can see in my minds eye, the detailed layout of the village, but swear it resembles nothing I have ever visited in my entire life.
If ‘A’ life is energy and can resemble an electric powered unit, such as a telly, computer or radio; when you unplug the unit, the unit dies but the power which gave it life lives on, returning through the grid to bring power and life to other units.
It was this very simple analogy I heard many moons ago, which did contribute to my understanding and belief that we - our energy or souls - have many lives, with just as many lessons to learn.
If we fail to achieve particular lessons in this life, then I believe we are probably given the same painful issues in our next life…. Until we conquer whatever issue we have. That belief has, on many occasions, put the breaks on any suicide attempt; I’d only be faced with the same rubbish in my next life….
If a part of our energy, or a hidden part of our sub conscious, lives on forever, then past lives are not too difficult for me to comprehend. I read a series of books by a Psychologist, Dr Brian Weiss, who uses hypnotherapy. By chance he stumbled across this phenomena of past lives and found he could hypnotise and regress some people back into their previous lives.
The books are amazing. "Only Love is Real" "Many lives, Many Masters", and, "Same Soul, Many Bodies"; written in that order. At first I felt very skeptical, but by the end of his books, I could see clearly the very real possibility of us living through many lifetimes.
