I hope so!!!
I hate how this illness does such a good job of convincing you things are bad and you'll not get better etc... what a silly illness!

Thank you Lemon!!! That is so kind of you. How has your day been?
I think the new meds are helping me do more already. I was feeling cr*p earlier so I took some old tins of paint to the tip with hubby (who works from home) and I hoovered and cleaned the inside of the car. Think keeping busy has helped me put things in perspective a bit more. There is no way I would have been able to do this while on citalopram, in fact, I would more likely have spent the whole day in bed feeling bad!

Hey book! Hope you feeling a little brighter now. I haven't had a great day either, went back 2 bed for a few hours after bein up just an hour. But i am showered, dressed, and smiling now! Goin 2 start preparing dinner Im a little while. Im similar 2 you,Im that i have 2 force myself through things and try 2 keep myself busy, but some days that's not so easy is it!

I also take venlefaxine and my dose was increased a few months back. I think its a great med just don't forget 2 take one,can have an immediate negative impact! X x

Bookletters,  *() I hope things start to brighten up for you very soon. You are doing so well to keep active. I'm afraid I normally fold, and take refuge in bed. I'll try hard to keep following your fine example. Best wishes.

Woozywoo, you are another fighter. I wish I had more backbone!

Thank you so much people!
With citalopram not doing anything for me I was straight back into bed if I had a dip, in fact, I could barely get out of bed at all!
Keeping busy earlier made me feel better again then I dipped a bit thinking "other people seem so happy" at the supermarket. Silly illness! I have to remember what my CBT therapist says "too easy to think other people are really happy but a lot of them will be having problems, worries, illnesses... life is never perfect for anyone, regardless how people appear to others!"

Michael everyone on here is a fighter including you! There are days when i stay Im bed and hide away, though that doesn't happen very often at the moment, but that's thanx 2 the medication, nothing wonderful that i am doin!

Life is hard and depression can make it bloody unbearable. But when its a time like that, people here are always ready 2 support, which i just find amazing and proves how amazing human kindness can be.

I and all the other are here for you Michael, don't beat yourself up,you are a fighter 2! X x

Absolutely Michael, I have read some of your posts and you are so good to other people. That really shows what a kind / good person you are.
Same for me, I have seen what I am like with a non effective medication (citalopram) and it's not a pretty picture!! I don't answer the phone, I don't check my emails, I don't open the curtains, I don't answer the door, I refuse to phone my (lovely) mum and dad, I won't go anywhere or do anything.... even the TV I can't concentrate on.... without my medication, I am totally useless!!! Scary but at the same time, we are so lucky to have medication... imagine 60 years ago, no antidepressant, nothing, I don't how on earth I would have coped!!

Bookletters....  +-_ I've been looking out for your posts.  It's nice to see you experience such positive effects from Venlafaxine.  At the start of today, your post did sound a bit worrying.  But, you must feel over the moon that you were able to work through the dip and end up feeling the better for it.  There's always a danger of feeling overwhelmed by disappointment at the first sign of a dip in our new-found mood  But, you are handling it all brilliantly  $%$

Thanks Cat!!!!
Funny how it goes up and down, but yes, the medication is helping me help myself... even though I know it's not going to be a linear progress and I have to remember that too!

Trouble is, you're probably so exhausted from past months not sleeping.  Now that you're relaxing, the exhaustion sets in and leaves you feeling flat.

Yes I was having incredible bags under my eyes and my appetite was completely erratic too so that didn't help either!
Silly illness!

I have ups and downs. Thought the AD's were helping, but seem to be wearing off :(. It's great your Meds are helping you though. And if you have a supportive partner that can only be a bonus :). Xx
