More clumsy and forgetfull
« on: September 27, 2012, 01:26:52 PM »

Does anyone else get more clumsy and forgetfull when their depression is bad.  I fell my full length the other day tripped over fresh air and pulled a muscle in my leg.  Over this past week I have mislaid my mobile phone and mislaid three pairs of scissors, which has ground my doll making hobby to a halt.  I keep forgetting where things are forgot where i put the cats toothpaste I know but they have dental problems with a lot of tarter.  Found it after a long search including the drawer I found it in which I searched three times.  Or is the F@@@up Fairy just taken up residence in my house. I bought a new craft knife yesterday guess what it has gone into the ether as well but at least I found a craft project I had been looking for. Be glad to go to work for a rest from all this searching "£$

Oh god yes!!!

I stay away from the cooker and knives when i'm really bad...have huge gash on my hand thats still healing...and my shins are always covered in bruises..
And I still haven't sorted the house out after having the whole place out last time I was looking for something!!  The amount of money I waste having to buy stuff again...you're not alone!!  "!+

Yep Cat69 I know what you mean about bruises and turning house upside down.  I found phone while looking for something else I keep on shouting to St Anthony to find things for me think he has taken up residence in my house. Also found scissors in a place I looked three times so doll making has resumed.  Off to work to shout at my regular customers if Im nice to them they worry bless there wee cotton socks.  While waiting for them will do some zentangle which I find soooo soothing it helps calm me and sort out my thoughts.

Yes that's me and have successfully managed to fall over one of my dogs twice  and she's a Rottweiler.  When I'm depressed I walk into things, trip over anything including my own feet and my memory gets shot to pieces.  I can put my glasses down and spend ten minutes looking for them  "!+

forgetful is a soft word to describe. I totally can't focus on anything at all a nd everything annoys me. I can't read or watch TV, everything I do seems wrong. I can't talk to people because I get the sensastion my brain is blocking any information from the outside.

Absolutely. My brain has been a mess recently, can't concentrate or focus. I walk into doors, drop things, and forget what I'm doing one minute to the next. I try to read, but have to turn back the pages when I'm lost. Need to keep rewinding sky because I've missed something. I made the mistake of trying to drive and nearly drove into oncoming traffic after a 3(2) point turn. Hang on in there, my brain used to work and I'm sure it will again soon. x

Absolutley. I've always been a bit clumsy, but now its just ridiculous... I'm covered in small burn scars from the oven and usually have some bruises or scratches on my arms and legs from walking into things. I did ask my doctor a while back if it could be linked to self harm - I was trying so hard not to self harm and yet being so 'clumsy' that I was injuring myself, was it some sort of subconcious thing? He said probably not, its more likely to be extreme tiredness mixed with medication. He pointed out that if I drove he would probably advise me to stop as it was obvious my reactions weren't that quick - but my anxiety put paid to that a while ago!

I also struggle to read and maintain conversations with people.
