Maybe bipolar but not sure....Would like some help please.
« on: September 18, 2012, 09:58:18 AM »
If anyone is biploar or knows of someone who is, i would really value your advice please. Although i was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety by the doctor, i'm now starting to wonder if i have bipolar. For example: My moods swing all the time. I can be extremely depressed, then wobble in the middle with my moods and then usually go on a up for a while (length tends to vary from afew minutes to afew days). Granted i spend far more time feeling depressed and anxious than i do on the up.
I wake up everyday and not knowing how i'm going to feel. Sometimes i'm thinking "whats the point in life?" to "Ok, lets get things going and achieved". Usually, if i'm on the up, i'll make myself horribly tired in the process and then crash back into depression. Its funny, how going from depression to feeling ok or up, my moods wobble before hand, but going from the up or ok, back to depression its pretty not far off an instant crash.
Is this rapid cycling bipolar or is this just normal depression? If it helps i was on Fluxentine 40MG for a short while but they gave me major brain fog and nasty dreams so i took myself off them. I'm now on 20MG of Citolpram and so far, all i've noticed is a small amount of improvement to my mood and thank goodness, keeps my nightmares away!
Can anyone offer me some insight here? Thanks very much.

Hi Viola

I would suggest that you chat to your GP about your symptoms, hopefully yours will be relatively clued up. I can't say whether you're bipolar or not.

When I get high, I don't need sleep, can run around doing loads of things but don't get tired or need sleep, sleep becomes an inconvenience that wastes time. This is typical of bipolar.

If you have any questions please ask  %^%
Best of luck xxx

No problem. What you're going through is awful whether bipolar or not you shouldn't have to suffer. When it comes to bipolar some gps are more aware than others. My GP was really good but I know others aren't so switched on.
