Have read a few. Would be pleased to find out which have helped others?  Thanks

Not so much a book about depression but more a general self help book, Susan Jeffers - feel the fear and do it anyway. Bit of a classic so you probably know it already but it's helped me so much in difficult times.

Personally I am not a fan of ''curse of the strong''. I think in some cases its theory holds true, but in many others it does not. People do often suffer bouts of major depression with no apparent exogenous cause. Then there is dysthymia, people who are almost permanently depressed for no exogenous reason. Of course there are people who push themselves beyond what most people would, and they end up depressed as a result...I think all who know me on here will agree that my stubbornness is a contributor to my ill health.

However, there are so many other factors that contribute to depression, I, arguably cynically, beleive the author decided to make some cash by writing an ego boosting book. But much of the CBT ideas in the book are heplful, although certainly nothing novel.

Despite me saying this, the book helped Zaf and it has helped others, so that is a good thing.
