Just recently registered here. Also registered on another couple of mental health sites, but this is the first ‘Depression’ one I’ve joined!
To cut a bit of a long story short, have had chronic depression as well as social anxiety and OCD related problems for much of my life. First started seeking help in 2007 when these problems first started to interfere with my ability to hold down jobs - which has involved counselling, CBT and medication. Unfortunately none of these things have worked out too well - though admittedly CBT has had the most benefit for me out of them all. Still in the process of trying to find a therapy treatment that will likely work out better for me, though the length of time this is proving to take is something that is causing me alot of further frustration. It’s also recently really not helped that an undiagnosed physical health condition I’ve had for some time has recently become much more of a problem and
causing a lot of uncertainty and worry for me just now. :-(
However, despite all this, just trying to take each day as it comes and stay as hopeful as I can that things will eventually get better – though some days I struggle much with this than with others.
