I'm 35 and recently (2 months ago) put on citrolapram.  Struggling a bit with the side effects and still get low days.  Not feeling to good today.  I just want to lock the door close the curtain unplug the phone and rub out today.  Bring on tomorrow morning it has to be better.

Hello David and welcome to the forum,

Do you have medication reviews with your dr?  Maybe if you are still having bad days you could mention this to your dr and maybe change to a different type.  It took several to find the one which worked well for me (not saying it will take several changes for you, we are all different).

We all understand depression and the feelings and thoughts that go with it.

I'm back again at the end of the month and will let him know.  I was on fluxatine (ish spelling) for a short time last year but it started to close down the blood vessels in my hands so i'm a bit concerned/scared as to what effect other ones have.  I'll have a chat with him and see what other options are out there.
It's nice to know I can now speak to people who understand.

Thanks Shaz

Hi David and welcome to the forum. I can identify with your feelings of wanting to shut the world out and rub the day out too.

Like Shaz says, we're a friendly bunch and we understand

Hi Brodey,
just joined today.  I'm on fluoxetine - do you or anyone else happen to know if the closing  blood vessels in the hand is common?  I've never heard of that before.
Regarding your meds, citalopram seems to be one of the first line ADs given out, and if the handful of first line meds don't help they put you on something less well known.  That's my personal experience anyhow.
Wish you the best  *&^

Hi Brodey

I think we all feel like that at times during our depression.  I'm on citralopram and have no side effects.

Hey, I am currently on fluoxetine was on citalapram a few months ago they didn't agree with me had so many side affects with them.

Lucky enough I've only had to try two types of anti depressants and fluoxetine works works me.

Hi Brodey. Welcome to the forum. I'm new here and my husband just recently been diagnosed with depression. GP put him on citalopram and been on it now for 4 weeks. Not seen any lift on his moods at all but he is suffering very much with side effects. He's going to GP tomorrow, hopefully he could help.

Hi Chelliiee, how long we're you on citalopram before changing to fluoxetine? What was it like when you swap Meds?

Everybody here are very helpful and supportive, I wouldn't know what to do without them.
