Life is so 'Messy'

Everything just seems so sort of messy at the moment. That's the only way I can think to describe it. Everything just seems to be wrong and I feel like all the things that go on in life are out of place. I feel confused by my own emotions and feelings and I don't know what I want.

I don't really know if I am looking for advice or not. It just kind of needed to 'express' this thought because I'm not sure how I feel about it x

I kind of know what you mean. Since suffering from depression for the last 6 months, I don't really know who I am anymore. Not as a person but, like you, emotionally I feel different. What makes it worse is that I think people that are close to me have changed as well. I don't have any justification for feeling this, other than my illness may have affected others perception of me.

I too feel confused much of the time and again I blame the illness for this, please don't think you are alone. I'm sure many others have been through this too. Take care. X

I think you have pretty much described depression in this thread. If you ever do understand it, then share - it will be worth a lot to many people on here.

All I can suggest is take one day at a time, and if you must try to make sense of things then tackle one issue at a time. The overall feeling you have is probably a result of many issues ganging up on you at once and not giving you time to understand them. This is when we get 'lost' as we tend to look for THE reason and there isnt ONE.

Its one of the hardest things when you don't know how you feel. It makes everything so much more difficult.

Glen, I am trying to tackle one thing at a time but when it all gets thrown at you at once its a bit overwhelming. I should be able to sort it though.

Im almost sure thats what triggers depresseion in people most of the time - life throwing too much at us at once. Of course there are huge events that can happen in our lives that bring about these feelings all on their own, but I think for most its the unexpected 'sneaky' nature in which we are ganged up on by multiple problems.

The one day at a time advice is so sound, but as you say Icelolly, so hard to follow as well.

I guess thats why we are all here - to help each other through  :)
