« on: December 13, 2011, 11:56:20 PM »

Hi hybridtoy, welcome to the forum :)

Yep I do the same thing, I stay up late as the night is the time I normally feel better about things, I seem to come 'alive' at 11pm for an hour (which my ex could never understand, as he was always ready to go to bed by then lol) and even though I am completely knackered it seems a shame to go to sleep and then have to wake up the next morning and deal with a new day feeling fuzzy headed and tired like I haven't slept at all (even if I have had lots of sleep grr). Always been a night owl as long as I can remember tho, never liked going to bed as a kid and always hated getting up in the mornings!!

I'm the same as both of you except for me the reason why I stay up late is more because i'm putting off the mornings, I hate mornings so damn much
No matter how tired I am, some nights I just can't persuade myself to go to bed despite knowing that the tiredness in the morning will make my daily battle worse
If I go to bed early I see it as a waste of an evening which will only cause the mornings to come quicker.. :/

Yup - me also

I tend to stay up till at least midnight as if i tried to go to my bed earlier id just stare at the ceiling mulling over the demons that i chase,as covered in other post i generally use drink as a means of inducing sleep but it is often a shallow sleep as i i tend to wake up in wee small hours to find it hard to get back to sleep.

Im sorry as this is prob of bugger all help  :(

I get to sleep OK but then wake up over and over again after about midnight,  I find temporary solutions but so far nothing that has worked for any length of time :(

I'm exactly the same as you raindrops. and mr bentos, its not unhelpful - its comforting for us lot to know that we're not alone in the way we cope. It makes us feel a bit more sane I suppose.

i used to stay up really late, then try to sleep and couldnt. Its a symptom of the problem, and unfortunately it takes time to get bak into a good sleeping pattern, but you have to start somewhere.
Be worth trying things like Kalms or other herbal sleeping aids, if they dont work there are some fantastic pills to help you sleep, but they arnt very good for you!

Oh no I have no problem sleeping (thank god!). It's about the only aspect of my day that is good. I just meant that i stay up late intentionally to revel in the fact that my brain can't go insane anymore by that point
