Newbie from Harlow, Essex
« on: December 04, 2011, 09:49:19 PM »
Hello all,
Just thought I'd better say 'hello' and introduce myself. I'm Dougie, a single dad in my 50's ( look younger apparently! lol.) I live alone now my kids have grown up and left, and finding life very lonely to say the least. Doesn't help that I'm out of work after my business going down the pan! Still, things could be worse I guess..
Look forward to chatting or whatever we do on here ::)

Hi, Thanks for the welcome. Forgot to say in my introduction that I've suffered with depression for the last 20 years or so. Hoping to meet or chat to people near to my home town of Harlow. ( and anyone else that wants to natter!)

Hiya,
Sorry, didn't see your post for some reason! ::) All I'm doing is taking Fluoxetine. It sometimes seems as though it isn't doing anything, but it's not supposed to make you feel good I guess, just stop you going down. Don't like the side effects either!

yep know what you mean - would be nice if they made you happy wouldn't it. what dose of fluoxatine are you on and what side effects are you experiencing? i did take fluoxatine at some point but had it changed. :)

Hiya Lou,

I'm taking 20mg, once a day. So far I've experienced side effects including, loss of appetite ( I'm skinny enough already!  !£!), shaking, nausea, tiredness, and if you're lucky enough to be in a relationship they can affect your ability to orgasm!! -  sorry, no other way of putting it, lmao. but that's one side effect that isn't really much of a problem as I'm on my own.

Why did you change your medication, wasn't it working?

hi i dont know why they changed it. i think they thought it probably wasn't working! - not surprised not many do for long. perhaps the side effects will subside after a while - i hope they do for you anyway.
not sure why you got the birthday thing did i do it? ( have been playing around with the logos etc..) or have you been playing with them lol x ;D
