the top ten ways to survive christmas are???????

i used to love christmas as a kid but now all the magics gone and i just dread it i hate routines being changed and the fact so many things shut then when its ova all shops full off left over xmas stuff for rest of jan!
i do buy ppl cards n gifts as they get me things and feel bad if dnt make effort but wish after one day would be ova as it just seems to drag, guess the routine change hits most n fact transport, shops all stop etc not to mention its winter the weather aaaaaaaah!!!!!!
just wondering if a top ten survival list was put together to survive christmas what tips would be in the list?????

In my case Xmas is difficult because I lost my mum 9 years ago, and she really enjoyed Xmas.

Much as I find it difficult I actually feel better when I'm surrounded by family rather than shutting myself off.

I dont do Christmas so I simply ignore it  =+-  sadly my dad had his last month of life from the solstice onwards so its a sad time of year for me.

I enjoy Christmas for the decorations, tv and nice food and usually enjoy it best on my own

I am the opposite I hate it now, giving in mind I am still only 21, I just hate it now, many things contribute to it I just feel  a fakeness about it all, having to give and receive gifts to other people, pretending to appreciate their gifts,  the pressure it puts on people today  due to the commercialization of it all  just makes me sick.

I know i'm a grinch  but meh !!.

I'm with cat on this one, I love Christmas also for the food and decorations but also we have loads of quality family time playing games by the log fire.

Am really dreading Xmas. Last two years has just been me and two boys. Husband away working, well was first one but now know spend last year with girlfriend. Have been invited to Husbands Sister's that is awkward, My parents are well in 80's , would be welcome but kids would be bored out of brains, sign of the time, no computers broadband for phones etc. We are in Cornwall, familly in London area. HELP. Used to be a special time, now just a time i dread.

Where is the log fire, in the past have rented cottages around the counrty, snow and all that or had family down to mine. Now husband gone, so is his family, My parents are in their 8o,s bless them . I am quite happy to spend it with them as long as I can cook! My mother gets very stressed, But then my boy (nearly 17 would be borerd and would have ro leave 23 year old here to hopefully get invited to his girlfriends Xmas. Gaud is all so complicated. . Sorry but f*** Xmas. This will be censored. Am not religious, have done the nativity play thing, just left with boys who know Father  Xmas dosn't exist but still  expect a specail time at  Xmas . and why should they not, Cant beleive after all these years of stockings etc that I have come to this Roll on |Grandchildren etc so I can be Nany Xmas again ? ?

Christmas isn't like it used to be but I still enjoy the actual day.  It's the build up to Christmas Day I hate as it's so commercialised and the crowds in shops completely stress me out.  We don't go overboard so on the day we tend to get the dogs out, have breakfast ~ get all our favourite food in  ~ then relax for the rest of the day.

can remember at end of jan this year easter eggs came out in shops mostly the supermarkets, its all about making cash in shops and once one event over the next takes its place. do many still remeber the point of xmas n easter mmmmmmmmmm  kids now its just want want want grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

yep, mass commercialisation has wrecked it big time in so many ways.

but that aside, I did enjoy Christmas last year, I was with my Lady Lynne, now without Lynne, it is just a bottomless pit. but that is for every day now.

i usually hate christmas as i have mentioned before but kinda getting in the mood  i have been listening to smooth radio xmas non stop for the past few days .

could sing all the xmas songs off by heart by now.
