Hi, hope you guys are doing well. I’m fresh out of hospital after another suicide attempt ☹️ Done some real damage this time... awaiting surgery for a damaged tendon in my wrist.. I’m not sure what to do with myself!! I can’t do any of the things that usually make me feel better! No gym, no dog walking... can’t even dress myself properly 😔 I’m feeling slightly better now so I’m going to use this thread to try and check in each day. How’s your teeth brushing going Amanda? Xx

I'm so sorry you felt so low, Lisa!  I hope you don't have to wait too long for the surgery!  Would it help to talk about how you are feeling or would that trigger you?

Please do keep checking in, Lisa.  I'll worry about you on the days you don't!

The teeth brushing is a new routine for me now so I usually remember to do it after walking the pup each morning.  Might go and do it now that you've reminded me though then take the pup out after that   :happy0158:

Lisa, thank you for checking in and letting us know what's happened  and I wish I could give you a proper hug to let you know you're not alone.  It will take time but one day you will have enough confidence to know it's safe to post whatever you want nor will you be judged.

Amanda, that's a beautiful poem.

Hey good morning

Just checking in. I’m a bit wobbly today but surgery went fine no permanent damage etc, just got to build myself back up now. I have barely any recollection of Saturday I just know that I had a new counsellor on Thursday and she wouldn’t let me talk about anything to do with my case as the courts can request her notes and I’m not allowed to speak about “evidence” I think that’s what got to me. I’m knocking the booze on the head too it drives me even more insane!! I will get better at posting on here just very difficult to trust right now. Hope you guys are well xx

I'm around all day if it would help to talk?  Don't give any details so that you don't get into trouble with the court, but maybe you could use hypotheses or case studies and change names and locations and things like that or just using the initials of the people and places involved or whatever?  Like I do in my blog?  If it happened in Sherwood Forest for example, say it happened in the Forest of Dean or whatever?  If the person's name was Peter, just call him P or Jim or something?

I'm here for you all day.

Lisa, good news about the surgery.  It does take time to trust people enough to open up..  For me what helped was a friend giving me support a forum (not a depression one) as she knew I was depressed and was very concerned so she was relaying information to her partner who is a doctor.  After seeing my GP who confirmed I was severely depressed I took the plunge and started a thread about it as I had made so many friends on the forum that I trusted.  The response back was amazing and I got a lot of private messages from people who felt ashamed that they were depressed but felt they could trust me.

How is your recovery going?  There's a tutorial on my homepage that talks you through how to set up and post to a blog if that helps?  Just click on the globe under my picture of Mitzi, that'll take you to my navigation page follow the link on there to my homepage and it's in the navigation.  It might seem daunting and I'm sure there must be an easier way to do it, but it's how I created my 3 blogs   :giggle:

Well there are a couple of doing this Lisa.

One way is blogger.com and wordpress.com although there is also livejournal.com as well.  At the moment I am using wordpress for one blog simply because it suits me and I have distanced myself from one topic I used to write about.  It just got painful in the end and it wasn't helping me any more to keep writing about that topic.  Anyway all three are good so goes down to personal preference.
