Hi Legojedi,

welcome to the site.

Your symptoms indicate that you are currently suffering from a bout of depression despite the drugs, I think what your doctor should have done is offered you psychotherapy in addition to the drugs he or she has prescribed you.

It appears that you are going through a "blip" In depression this happens, most of the times we are unsure why we are like this, despite previously feeling ok.

The cause of depression could be deep rooted or present, obviously I don't know your situation and everyone is different. What I would say is it's always good to talk to someone, but make it a professional and not family or friends.

Your doctor may know of a psychotherapist/counsellor, it could cost or look for a charity whereby their services are free. Having said that, we are also self funded mental health organisation and offer free help online or offline.

Have a look at our site and if it's something you would like, just let us know. We would be more than happy to help and we genuinely care and understand. And we are 100% confidential and qualified.

Whatever you decide I hope you are ok and whatever happens, don't give in to it and don't let it beat you... you can do it!!

take care
John @ Mindful help.

Hi Paul that's exactly how I feel all the time as well, I was on Citalopram which was rubbish then went onto Fluxotine and through that went to some counselling sessions which was a hugh help and I made the mistake of thinking I knew how to cope so refused further sessions because I was feeling good but it was a huge mistake,as said in the last reply you need both together, so just a heads up that if you do get counselling think twice about giving up when you feel better because it could be a false dawn.
I got so forgetful that my doc asked if I had tried Citalopram before and changed me back onto them and I forgot I was ever on them and I am sorry I changed back.
Take it easy.
