That would be amazing....
I heard a discussion about slugs on the radio last week. Apparently porridge oats are good for getting rid of them. The slugs eat them up and die, but them when the birds, hedgehogs or frogs eat the dead slugs they are not harmed because its only oats. They didn't say why the oats killed the slugs... maybe it dries them out?
-
Thats interesting, once it dries out I'll pus some down and see what happens :)
-
I think it's because they absorb fluid and expand (I don't think I'll elaborate ;D ). I may give that a go myself :)
-
Oh dear, that conjures up a vision of exploding slugs :o
-
oh yuck!....Have you ever stood on a poor wee snail? OMG I do that all the time (by mistake, of course!) there are loads in our back yard.....makes me wanna puke!
-
Its horrid, I try very hard not to :(
I'm trying some yukka slug repellent but every time it rains I have to renew it so thats an awful lot this year :(

Apparently salt isn't good for the animals that then eat the dead slugs :(
I didn't realise that hedgehogs were mini slug eating machines! Upto 100 a night apparently.....
-
Love hedgehogs, we get them in the garden. Amber had me up at 2am the other morning barking at one through the cat flap ;).

For some reason we dont get many here :(
-
We get a few... but they are usually in the front garden and not where all the slugs are out the back! We do have a family of frogs though, so they help :)
-
Thats good to hear that frogs eat the slugs, we have frogs in our pond, loads of tadpoles now getting their legs too, so hopefully they will all stay in the garden and eat all our slugs :).
