Title: MDMA Assisted Psycotherapy
Post by: SteveW on March 04, 2012, 09:46:19 PM
It seems drug assisted psychotherapy for PTSD at least is alive and well. MAPS Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies  have made their treatment manual for their experimental MDMA assisted psychotherapy available online. It can be found at

MAPS is quite an interesting site is psychedelics interest you. Its address is:

This link contains a description of the use of MDMA and LSD with MDMA for therapeutic purposes entirely written by the person undergoing the experiences. It dates from way back when MDMA was referred to as Adam rather than Ecstasy. I found it interesting but then I'm a therapist.

Thought that the post I did referring to an LSD/MDMA experience was a little unrepresentative of psychedelic therapeutic effects.Decided to post a chapter from the book The Varieties of Psychedelic Experience as being more representative. The authors operate with a stages model of the psychedelic experience and see the therapeutic as a stage to be traversed on the way to deeper levels, which are also therapeutic but in a rather different way. The relevant chapter is Chapter 7 The Voyage Inward p139 onwards.

Not too sure I'd be too trusting of MDMA or LSD give the harm it has done me in the past.
