Next week is supposed to be nice except for those of us living on the east coast - great "£"
-
Oh no Zaf, hopefully they are wrong and you get a nice week.
S x x x x
-
so far its bitterly cold (needed gloves to feed the horses this morning), and the strong wind is bringing sea fog inland, I did get the leeks planted out yesterday and the area for the salads prepared - are we going to want to eat salads I wonder if it stays this cold?
-
Well in the south west coast it is currently overcast, cooler than first thing and theres a bit of a breeze.
Hope you get some sun Zaf xxx
-
still no sun and still very cold :(
-
Sun for 5 minutes lunchtime, now cold and windy again.
S x x x x
-
Sun came out here at midday, now boiling car says 24 degrees
:)
-
Thats 14 degrees more than it is here (green with envy) ;)
Z x
-
Will try to send some your way xxx
-
Thanks Buttercup :)
Z xx
-
Try and send some to Suffolk too ;).
S x x x x
-
Will try Shaz. Xxx
-
Thanx buttercup, we need some sun in the East, fed up of cloudy weather.
S x x x x
-
Its been nice here today too... Hoping to finish the fence painting this week :) Will try and send some your way Shaz and Zaf xx
-
Thanx hopefully you and buttercup can will some sunshine our way.
S x x x x
-
Thanks guys, its definitely brighter here today but the strong wind off the coast is keing it quite chilly, really nice to see the sunshine :)
-
No sun here Zaf, now I think we must be the only place in the UK with cloud :(.
S x x x x
-
Its not really sun, just the cloud is thinner and we are getting some brightness through it but its better than yesterday, I'll try to send some down to you :)
Z xx
-
Yes please ;), thanx Zaf.
S x x x x
-
With all this sending good weather around the country, we must really be confusing the weather forecasters :D x
-
Don't think they take much confusing Munchroom :D.
S x x x x
-
Yay the sun has come out %$%.
S x x x x
-
Still bright here, now we need the wind to drop %$%
-
Oh yes.
S x x x x
-
Its reached the dizzy heights of 58F by the back door !£?
-
Hot hot hot here already 21 degrees :)
-
15C here and bright, the occasional sunny spell - better than yesterday :)
-
Its lovely here now, breezy but warm.
S x x x x
-
Nice out of the wind but still chilly otherwise, got a bit of sun too :0)
-
finally the sun has arrived ;D
and my astrantia has instantly wilted! I had hoped all the rain would have made a difference (it has, the damn thing's never looked better) hopefully the bucket of water I've just chucked over it will make a difference!
I'm never happy! ;)
-
I'm the same, I think I'm going to have to start watering plants tomorrow!
-
Sunny and warm here in the Midlands. Just one question, why do weeds cope in any weather??!!
-
I dont know but if anyone knows how to get rid of bindweed and nettles please let me into the secret!
-
Is Bindweed the one that has long white roots and wraps itself around all the other plants?! x
-
Yes, horrible stuff >:(
-
I hate it too, been out pottering in the garden this evening, did some watering and weeding. My weeds get re-cycled into eggs :D, they love the dandylions. But do not like the bindweed or nettles :(.
S x x x x
-
I hope to do a little in the garden tomorrow too :)
-
About 16C today, maybe 17C, cloudy but dry, not bad weather for doing stuff in the garden.
Sorted mum's indoor tomatoes and got some salad seeds in, need to find the 'catch them alive' mousetraps as the little blighters ate all the beetroot last year $%^
-
My mum got those traps, the mice managed to get the food out without it closing :D
Its really hot here, mid to high 20s and clear blue skies.
-
Oh gawd, I hope our mice arent as intelligent as your mum's!
The sun has come out at last and the temperature is 18C, really lovely or pottering around in the garden :)
-
Oh no intelligent mice ;).
24C here today, lovely.
Hope you enjoyed your potter in the garden Zaf.
S x x x x
-
Yes thanks shaz but it got too hot after lunch so I had to come back indoors!
Z xxx
-
Still hot here, the temperature was already 23 at 8:30 this morning.
xxxx
-
Lots of sun with a nice cool wind off the sea, having to water my plants now ::)
-
Hot here too, lovely clear blue sky and a warm breeze. Just been swimming and it was lovely to get in the water today.
S x x x x
-
It was 29C on our patio this afternoon. But our garden is a bit of a sun trap so it tends to be hotter there than everywhere else :)
Guinea pigs and the rabbit weren't too pleased, had to move them into the shade at the bottom of the garden.
-
Another gorgeous day in the midlands, hope it lasts until Jubilee weekend
-
Our poor ferrets were layed in in their outside run too, to hot in their bed.
Hopefully it will continue Kate there are so many celebrations planned around the country.
Hot here already today.
S xx
-
Hot here too, the nice sea breeze has dropped so I got the weeding done first thing so I didnt boil, plants all need watering, going to set up a leaky hose system as they're still legal with the hosepipe ban
-
Walked the girls early but they keep cool by going in and out of the stream, just come in from weeding, tidying up the garden. Plan to potter about indoors now just putting washing out when its done. Have all windows, doors open to get the breeze through.
S x x x x
-
Weeded about a third of the raised bed (like a jungle), only planned to do that much so I dont get too tired or get a backache, helped David get a couple of gravel boards put in at the end of the patio to form a retaining wall (blummin heavy), repotted a few things, want to continue in the garden but the freezer must have defrosted by now so I ought to do that before I run out of steam ::) will have to water a lot of the plants later
Lets hope summer lasts a bit longer but could do with some rain now - preferably in the hours of darkness ;)
-
I got a huge bag of weeds too (makes me mad how weeds can grow without water) the chickens had a feast though, they love the dandylions. Rain at night would be great, water butt getting low now.
S x x x x
-
I eat my dandelions, they taste good in a salad :)
I hope to get the leaky hose system working tomorrow, David is going to try to get me a whole roll when he goes into town to do his parents shopping, I have lots of short bits but a whole roll would be easier
Z xx
-
I remember a friend of mine wanting them years ago as they are good for mastitis. Must have healthy chooks as they lay well bless them.
Better idea to get a long reel of pipe much easier.
S x x x x
-
I never realised that, off to consult my herbal books!
I've found one long reel and will see if I can get another from the garden centre, I realy dont want to have to keep watering with a watering can
Z xxx
-
Let me know if its good for you and I will have it instead of the chooks ;)
We are watering with cans and its so time consuming :(.
S x x x x
-
LOL I will
It takes ages doesnt it?
Z xx
-
Craig and me go armed with a watering can each.
S x x x x
-
There seems just so much to water, I want to get this leaky hose system sorted tomorrow as it ought to do a fair bit for me.
I put black plastic over the bit I dug over today to stop it drying out
Z xx
-
Pouring again, I had hoped to get the squash planted this evening but I think I'd need an aqualung and flippers to try it now, perhaps I should give up with normal vegs and start growing rice?
-
Lol start a new trend paddy fields in East Anglia. We keep getting heavy showers and then sun again.
S x x x x
-
I'm just watching the weather forecast, they're saying storms in the next couple of days "£" I blame the water companies, if they hadnt imposed a hosepipe ban we'd never have had all this rain :D
-
Lol they will probably still say they don't have enough water :(. The only good thing is that we don't need to water. Just the greenhouse plants and have a water but full :).
The weather here was a lot better than the weather man said it would be. Sure they just guess sometimes ;).
S x x x x
-
Its the wrong sort of water I expect ::)
I'm sure they do :D
Z xx
-
I am sure they will say that ;D. There is always something wrong with it ;).
S x x x x
-
Ummmm raining here too. Horrible weather.
On the plus side we haven't got a hosepipe ban. :)
-
We have the wrong type of rain here ;). According to Anglian Water anyway. Crazy :(.
S x x x x
-
Lol, I get it all the time, hubby does some work for a water authority. He has often explained what is considered right and wrong rain :-\ :-\ :-\
-
We have the wrong type of rain here ;). According to Anglian Water anyway. Crazy :(.
S x x x x
I just heard that on the local news ::)
-
Oh no ::) they are still saying it then.
S x x x x
-
Well it's raining here, as promised
-
Yes shaz, Anglian water are "concentrating on stopping leaks but the hosepipe ban remains"!
The forecast for the west of the country looked horrid Buttercup, hope it doesnt last long.
Got my squash/pumpkins out, weeded enough space for the celariac and planted them, apart from weeding I dont think there are any more pressing jobs to do in the garden. The weeds are gaining on me though :o
-
I'm beginnng to wonder if some alien species has moved the British Isles northward or altered the Gulf stream, it feels like winter here with gales and rain :(
-
Fields flooded, trees down, will summer ever arrive?
-
Its so horrible just walked the girls with Craig and branches ripped off trees. Wind is battering all of my new plants. Can't believe we still have a hose pipe ban, concentrating on leaks grrrrrr.
S x x x x
-
Crazy isnt it :(
Z xx
-
The wind has died down here for now :)
-
Now I've heard it all - local news a duck race has been cancelled because of the wet weather ::)
-
I don't believe it how crazy. Our local duck race is in a couple of weeks. I remember one year they let the ducks go and they all just didn't move :D because the river was so low. Think they might end up with you this year Zaf they will be travelling so fast ;).
S x x x x
-
:D :D :D
-
There will be 'beware of the yellow plastic duck' warnings going out.
S x x x x
-
I can see it now on Look East "yellow plastic ducks cause havoc" :D
Z xx
-
;D ;D ;D It would be so funny.
S x x x x
-
It would :D :D
Z xx
-
Feel a little left out down here in the South West.
The problem here isn't ducks it's beach huts, they got washed away in Torquay!
-
Oh no, beach huts are a bit more dangerous than our little plastic ducks ;).
S x x x x
-
There is serious flooding in Wales, helicopters rescuing people :(
-
OMG Craig has gone to Wales today to see his daughter. He hasn't mentioned anything when he texted me. Hopefully in another part, he plans to come home tonight.
Ducks could be heading your way Zaf, our Duck Race is today, thought it was later in the month. Our local scout troop raises funds by organising it, had many years helping when the boys were in Scouts.
Quite nice here today, got one load of washing dry now about to hang another load out.
S x x x x
-
I think its on the coast somewhere, they werent letting people into the area so I'm sure you'd have heard from him if there was a problem.
I'll keep my eye out for rampant ducks in case some find their way up to us :o :D
Its been cloudy all day but the strong windis getting the washing dry nicely :)
Z xx
-
Shaz, on the news they said no one was injured so don't worry :)
It's summer again down sowf - mowed my lawn, and the neighbour's too just for good measure.
-
I hate it enough when he goes up there, tend to keep myself busy till I know he is on his way home.
Look out for those little yellow plastic ducks Zaf ;).
S x x x x
-
Thanx Whiteadder, I tend to worry when there is nothing to worry about - typical me ;). Glad you got your grass cut.
S x x x x
-
I certainly will shaz ;)
Z xx
-
Hosepipe ban should be lifted today apparently :)
-
Oh fantastic news :). How strange as I was typing just heard it on the tv :)
S x x x x
-
Weather forecast not too bad for East Anglia over the weekend, with a bit of luck they've got it right!
-
Completely changed from what they were saying. Its good to hear though about time we had some good weather.
S x x x x
-
They might give us a completely new forecast in the morning :-\
-
It wouldn't surprise me one bit Zaf. At least Craig is pleased, cricket should be on now.
S x x x x
-
Cloudy and windy here so far :(
Z xx
-
Sun/cloudy and very windy here, warm wind though, so not too bad.
S x x x x
-
Very similar here, I think tomorrow is supposed to be better
Z xx
-
I hope so, just wish the wind would drop.
S x x x x
-
Me too, its causing a lot of damage in the garden :(
Z xx
-
Fed up of tying plants up like the Clematis' and the sweetpeas.
S x x x x
-
I had to tie mine up again ths morning and its really battering down some of the tall plants
Z xx
-
Its a right pain in the bum ;).
S x x x x
-
Strong winds again, more plants blown down :( I did get the ivy off the garage ready for its undercoat but darent paint it in case it rains
-
Same here Zaf, Just wish the wind would die down.
S x x x x
-
I did manage to pull up some more of the dammned bindweed and repot the pepper plants but then I gave up and finished the wardrobe blitz instead
-
Torrential rain again :(
-
Same here this morning, then brightened up, now had a heavy shower again "£".
S x x x x
-
Awful here today, dull wet and yuk. Does nothing for my mood :(. S x x x x
-
Same here and torrential overnight, is it ever going to stop? :(
Z xx
-
Just had enough of it now. Some summer would be nice. X x
-
Me too, a bit of sun always makes us feel better, do you feel bad today? !+_
Z xx
-
Just feeling yuk. Must be the weather I think. Nothing else I can think of. Found it hard to motivate myself to do anything yesterday :( x x
-
Thats horrid, I hope it is just the weather and you feel better very soon !+_ !+_
Z xxx
-
My back isn't helping. The pain in my back and legs disturbs my sleep. Going to try painkillers before going to bed tonight x x
-
It certainly wont, taking pain killers is a good idea, do you have a firm date to go back to see the consultant?
Z xxx
-
Yep its August 16 and then I will be put on the waiting list. He wanted me to loose the weight first. Just gets me down some days x x
-
Its still a fair while to wait :( I can understand it getting you down, constant or regular pain is very wearing :(
!+_ !+_
Z xxx
-
Thanx Zaf :) x x
-
We now have torrential rain and a thunderstorm so its dog cuddling time ::)
Z xxx
-
No thunderstorm yet. Just keep having sudden heavy showers. My girls are a bit damp to cuddle (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E331.png) so having my cuddle with Boris the cat x x
-
We have cold drizzle now and all the dogs have decided to hibernate :)
Z xx
-
Ours are curled up in their bed :) x x
-
Bless them :) xxx
-
Weird today, thick fog first thing, then patchy sunshine now cloudy but really warm and humid
-
Been lovely here so far. Clouding up a bit now. Warm and humid :) a lot better than rain. S x x x x
-
Much better than rain ()_
Z xx
-
Just had a short light shower here x x x x
-
Dont you send it up to me ;) ()_
Z xxx
-
Strange went as quick as it came. Just watching our tadpoles in the pond. They have legs now (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E415.png). S x x x x
-
When they get big they'll gobble up your slugs ()_
Z xxx
-
We have a lot of older ones hopping round the garden and toads. They must be full up of slugs with this damp weather (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E405.png). S x x x x
-
They must be, its a pity we dont have a wee pond, perhaps one day......
The bindweed I gelled is definiely showing signs of looking ill, it would be lovely to ave found something that works at last but am esitant to use it in the veg garden
Z xxx
-
That sounds good, will have to get some. No don't think I would use it in the veg plots. S x x x x
-
I'll have to check the dock I gelled too, it would be useful if it would kill them as well :)
Z xxx
-
Sounds great stuff x x x x
-
I shant declare it as great till I know the bindweed is totally dead ;) but it certainly seems to be doing the job :)
Z xxx
-
I am just waiting to see if it works for you. Before I buy some ;) x x x x
-
:D
I think you sent that shower up to me, but it smells lovely on the hot earth :)
Z xxx
-
Smells lovely doesn't it. S x x x x
-
Its one of my favourite smells :)
Z xxx
-
Mine too and freshly cut grass x x x x
-
Deinitely and newly baled hay :)
Z xx
-
Ooohhh yes :) x x
-
How are your cucumbers doing Zaf? Some of ours are nearly big enough to eat :). First year we have grown them. As we have the greenhouse now. S x x x x
-
I picked one at the weekend, it was probably a bit small but I was getting impatient ;)
Its really nice having a greenhouse, ave you got tomatoes and peppers in it too?
Z xx
-
Not peppers. Forgot to plant some this year. We have big toms and cherry ones. I am the same too impatient. We keep digging the potatoes up and eating them even though they are tiny. Had loads of rhubarb too. Yummy. S x x x x
-
We have a forest of rhubarb, I guess the wet weather has done that - I havent started on our potatoes yet, I put them in about 6 weeks late, with a bit of luck they'll catch up a bit. This year I put the toms and cues in my mum's little greenhouse as the big one had red spider mite last year and I need to fumigate it to get rid of them completely
Z xx
-
Lucky you. We love rhubarb. Our plant is still quite young. Think potatoes are late anyway this year because of the weather. Oh yuk red spider mites are horrible. S x x x x
-
I think there are 4 or 5 plants there, I wouldnt be surprised if some of the crowns need splitting again. I think most things are late this year, I know the strawberry field up the road was nearly 4 weeks later than usual?
I battled with them for a couple of years with organic remedies to no avail so this year I'm going to have to put a sulphur candle in it in the hope it will clear them out
Z xxx
-
Eventually came in from the garden. Needed to eat and load dishwasher etc ;).
S x x x x
-
Its a really lovely evening out there for a change :)
-
Mum just told me is due to change after tomorrow :(. Hopefully Radio Suffolk has it wrong ;).
S x x x x
-
I hope so too but they only seem to get it wrong when they promise us good weather :-\
Z xx
-
Thats very true ()_ don't think they really know too far ahead anyway.
S x x x x
-
I dont think they do either ::)
Z xx
-
Its better to get up and look out of the Window ()_.
S x x x x
-
It usually works just as well if not better ()_
Z xx
-
Mostly cloudy with the occasional peek of the sun, incredibly warm and muggy (yuk)
-
Same here. Really humid. S x x x x
-
80F in the shade here (27C?)
-
Cooler here now. Just sitting by the pond with the cats. Both cats and dogs have been sprawled out trying to get cool all day. S x x x x
-
Ive just come in to feed the dogs, been sitting on the patio for a couple of hours :)
Z xxx
-
It's been foggy but hot here for the last few days. really muggy
-
Not quite so hot and muggy here today and we have had a few spots of rain
-
Definitely colder today and we've had a few spots of rain
-
Same here. Just grotty. Supposed to be the same all week so I have been told :(. S x x x x
-
Oh joy :(
Z xx
-
Exactly. I just hope they have it wrong. S x x x x
-
Me too
Z xxx
-
Supposed to warm up though. S x x x x
-
So it'll be warmer rain? :D
Z xx
-
=+- =+-
-
Its pelting it down here. Satellite signal gone off. Never seen so much rain (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E40E.png). Just fed up of this weather now. My chickens will have webbed feet soon ;). S x x x x
-
Same here, this really is getting ridiculous
Z xx
-
We have just been watching it run down our hill from the landing window. The drains just couldn't cope with the amount of rain. Craig was just saying it started raining when the hose pipe ban came into effect and hasn't stopped since :(. S x x x x
-
I think he's right :(
Z xx
-
Decidedly cold today but not too wet after heavy overnight rain
-
Pouring down again here :(. It was our town carnival today. Went down with mum to watch the floats. Stayed dry for them thankgoodness. But the events on the recreation ground have been cancelled due to health and safety :(. Such a shame as so much work goes into it over the year. Its just getting ridiculous how much rain we are getting. S x x x x
-
I know, its so unfair for all these events that are having to be cancelled, I honestly dont think I can ever remember such a wet summer, we are getting quite concerned about the price and/or availability of hay this year because unless there is at least a fortnight of decent weather the farmers cant cut and bale it :(
Z xx
-
Of course. The weather affects so many things. We were talking about the farmers earlier. S x x x x. Oh and its still raining here :(.
-
We have a break in the clouds here now, I'll try to send some sun down to you.
Z xx
-
Oh that would be great. We have the lights on here :(. Doing my ironing in between posting on here and hate doing it in half light. All my plants are swimming in water, poor things. Cats are miserable as they like to go out this time of day. So they are looking decidedly humpy (cats seem to be good at that ;)). The sky still looks full of rain, dark grey and yucky. S x x x x
-
Well it worked :) the sun is coming through. Never thought it would looking at the sky. So thanx so much Zaf ;). S x x x x
-
Great $%$ and I think its supposed to be OK tomorrow too _)_ xxx
-
Oh good. Need to clean the chickens out so will make that easier. I dare not look at the weather as its never good at the moment x x
-
Just because they say its going to be good, doesnt mean it is ::)
Just in case we dont get any
(http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g420/Zafs_stuff/Copyofsunny.gif)
For you xxx
-
Thanx Zaf. Just hope they have got it right. Can see blue sky now looking through the french doors (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E415.png). S x x x x
-
Its a really lovely evening here now :)
Z xx
-
Same here, you wouldn't think it was the same day. S x x x x
-
It seems to do this a lot this year, its really too late to want to go out and do much at this time xxx
-
It is. Its such a shame. Just hope it stays dry for tomorrow. Fingers crossed. S x x x x
-
And toes ;)
-
(http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E110.png) just hope this brings good luck for some sunshine. Love the new avatar. About time I changed mine again (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E405.png). S x x x x
-
Fingers crossed =+-
Thanks, I thought ot was a nice gentle pentagram _)_
Z xxx
-
It is, its lovely. S x x x x
-
So much for being told we will have sunshine, its clouding up quickly and looks like rain :0(
-
Same here, quite a bit cooler today as well :( s x x x x
-
Its definitely not very warm today, I think the forecast is for it to improve towards the end of the week but I'm holding my breath
Z xx
-
I hope they are right. I haven't looked at the forecast. Its to bad to want to know :(. S x x x x
-
I know what you mean and just now we get as much information by looking out of the mirror in the mornings =+- xx
-
So true. Its miserable. Makes me want to hibernate :( x x
-
It does me too, the veg garden as gone mad with weeds again, have decided next year to concentrate on blitzing the bindweed even if means not growing much xx
-
Craig has been to weed the allotment while I walked the girls, damn weeds are loving the rain :(. Need to clean the chickens out, need my wellies on so damn wet in their enclosure. Poor things x x
-
It really is ridiculous how wet it is and of course we're getting all the scare stories how expensive food will be now ::) xx
-
Oh I know the scare mongers love it :( x x
-
Mega thunderstorms all around atm, love to see them but poor Harry needs cuddling
-
Oh no hope they don't head this way :( x x
-
By the look of the satellite charts they should have missed you shaz
Cool, grey and drizzly here this morning
Z xx
-
Quite nice hear this morning so far. Cloudy but a bit of blue in the sky. Thank goodness we missed the storms. S x x x x
-
At least the forecast is for an improvement, lets hope they're right :) xx
-
I spoke to soon, its piddling down here now :(. I also hope they are right about it improving.
S x x x x
-
Just dull and cold here, I really hope so too
Z
-
Its been pouring down here since lunchtime :(. Had my hair appointment this afternoon, typical ;). Supposed to be really hot here next week - we will see. S x x x x
-
a few spots here just now but it looks like we may have a storm or heavy rain this evening and David is out on his motorbike ::)
The forecast is for summer to arrive Sunday and last till Tuesday ;)
Z xx
-
Oh no he will get soaked :(.
Craig looked at the weather and its supposed to reach 32 degrees next week - crazy.
S x x x x
-
So far no more than a few spots thankfully, we really dont want it getting that hot :(
Z xx
-
Just dry and pleasantly warm would be nice.
S x x x x
-
It would :)
Z xx
-
Patchy sunshine =+-
-
Well so far so good here. Sunny with patchy cloud. So fingers crossed :). S x x
-
Cloud with a few bright intervals but no rain :) xx
-
Its a beautiful evening, quite cool but sunny :)
Forecast good for the next few days, wondering how I can sort doing the ironing outdoors ;)
-
Long extension lead needed Zaf. Don't iron anything you don't need to, you need to rest ;). Cloudy but nice evening here too. S x x x x
-
I think I might have one long enough, I shall experiment ;)
There are only a few 'best' things that need doing and only if I feel up to it
Z xxx
-
That's ok then ;). S x x x x
-
=+-
-
Cloudy but warm and humid
-
Same here Zaf. S x x x x
-
Its just started raining, where is our wall to wall sunshine? *^* xx
-
Oh no :( its lovely here. Will send some (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E04A.png) your way. S x x x x
-
Thanks shaz, I think you may be succeeding =+- xx
-
I am amazed by my powers sometimes ;). S x x
-
=+- perfect here now, warm with a nice breeze, lets hope it lasts xx
-
Oh I do hope so. Its lovely here too. Just sitting on garden swing. S x x
-
I shall be moaning about having to water the pots soon ;) xxx
-
Lol had to do hanging baskets as the poor flowers were drooping. S x x
-
Even yesterday I had to rescue the holy basil, I shall go round later this evening and water everything xx
-
(http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg571/sharongoldie/IMG-20120722-00179-1.jpg)just taken this pic of Boris watching the fish feed. S x x x.
-
Does he ever try to catch them? xx
-
He does;) still trying now. But thankfully he is hopeless. Our other cats regularly brought them in, then it was a mad dash to get them back in the pond :). Basil (his brother is here now, but he is after fish food! Anyone would think I never fed them :). S x x x
-
They really can be o funny cant they? =+- xx

Have to say our pets bring me such joy. Never a dull moment here. Its so lovely in the garden now warm but with a lovely gentle breeze x x
-
Same here, the dogs have been sunbathing on and off, its lovely having them all around
-
A bit too hot for me but pretty blissful sitting in the shade on the patio bt the jasmine which smells lovely - even though I am tackling 3 Self Assessment forms!
-
Tut tut Zaf. You shouldn't be working ;). X x
-
I'm afraid they're getting urgent and there's no one else that can do them, but am tackling a bit at a time and not going into the office
Its got so hot out there that I'm back indoors with a big fan on, lots of rest till the evening then will get some garden stuff done hen it gets cooler.
Seriously considering mothballing the veg garden next year while I tackle the damned bindweed, its getting to triffid-like proprtions and I dont want to use roundup on the veggie areas
-
At least you are at home doing them. Much better to do garden stuff when its cooler in the evening. Just try not to do to much. S x x x x
-
No mam ;)
Got the last of the clematis in and all but one of the honeysuckle, the patio is gradually taking shape despite losing one or two plants and I'm convinced the blame can be attributed to certain dogs 'watering' the borders
Got the leaky hose on one border now and will go out to do the rest of the watering after Ive fed the dogs and me :)
Z xx
-
Lol. That's one good thing about having little girl dogs. Done the watering out the back as the sun has gone off the top end. Will do front in a bit x x
-
Just seen the weather another hot one tomorrow (http://depressionforums.co.uk/dpf/mobiquo/emoji/E04A.png). S x x x x
-
Looks like I'll need to sit on the patio again - hard life ;)

Z xx

Just reading your post and the sun is now burning through _)_.
S x x x x

Not arrived here yet hopefully it wont be too long _)_ xx
-
Wish it was cool and grey in London
-
The sun came out about an hour ago but its not as hot as it was yesterday, if we get cool and cloudy tomorrow I'll try to send some down to you ;) :D
-
Been really hot and sunny here. Supposed to change tomorrow evening :(. More breeze here as well today so more pleasant. S x x x x
-
Beautiful evening here, the breeze is just right =+- xx
-
Very overcast here, humid and quite hot
-
Same here. Had a few spots of rain earlier. S x x x x
-
Wouldnt be surprised to see some here before long
Z xx
-
Windy and cloudy here but very hot and muggy at the same time, really weird
-
really hot and muggy here to. Had rain at lunchtime. S x x x x
-
We've had a little rain this afternoon too, its horribly sticky now
Z xx
-
Same here did nothing to clear the air :(. S x x x x
-
Mega thunderstorm here yesterday afternoon and it looks like we may have another one brewing, I was rather hoping to get Tinka out for exercise when D gets back but its looking more and more unlikely
-
It's a bit cooler here (about 18) but I love it. Not much sun. Spent the morning moving plants indoors to the Kitchen window. They're not getting enough sunlight on the back balcony so a boost on the south facing window will do em good. Asked my neighbour to hang a couple of baskets with trailing Begonia's outside kitchen window. By this time of year, they usually have huge beautiful flowers drooping down. They similar to rose. However, both plants are sparse and have two pathetic little flowers struggling to bloom. They'll now come on by the end of this month and into Sept.
-
Its been a funny year for all plants I think Cat (with the exception of my bindweed &*& ) I'm beginning to wonder if its easier and cheaper to buy vegs these days ::)
-
We had mega thunder storm here this afternoon. Was at mums helping her in the garden. We rushed in to her conservatory, it pelted down with rain, thundered - yuk, I hate it. Then the sun came out again - crazy weather. But it does mean no watering tonight. S x x x x
-
We've had a few heavy showers but no thunder, its very black here again so its not too late.
Z xxx
-
Good job we did the outside things this morning, its just started thundering
-
Lovely London sunshine. Thunder yesterday... I can breath. My trailing Begonia's are soaking up the sun outside the kitchen window... good move putting em out there.
-
I bet they look lovely Cat :)
Sunny start and like yesterday its clouding up quickly so I think we may have more heavy rain or storms on the way
Z xx
-
Love trailing begonias, mum always has them in the summer. Sunny here this morning, cloudy now so like Zaf Looks like thunder storms this afternoon.
S x x x x
-
The Trailing Begonia's are my favourite, as are all the different kinds of Geranium... so easy to keep. This must be the worst year for plants... veg aint such a bad idea Zaf. Quite fancy putting together a wee allotment but not in filthy rat infested London.... maybe in when I return Scotland
-
Vegs havent done well this year Cat, the weather has been too weird
Just started thundering, I think thats every afternoon since Thursday
-
Not a great year for geraniums either. I have them every year, but its just been to wet this year for them. Also my fushias are only now just flowering and its August! No thunder for us today thank goodness :). S x x x x
-
Everything seems very late this year, my squash plants have only just flowered so I doubt if I'll get anything worthwhile from them this year :(
Z xx
-
Yes, Shaz, was just thinking how poorly the geraniums look, 'peely wally' (pale) as we'd say in Glasgow
24oC today and apparently climbing. Love it like this, not so tolerant above.
Can't understand why I've had another failed attempt at growing Lobelia in a pot. One died, the other is looking healthy but still no flowers. Anyone know if they prefer sun or shade?
-
Hi Cat, I grew our Lobelia from seed this year and most of them are in full sun, I have them out the back and front of the house, so all of them get varying amounts of sun.
Love the 'peely wally' saying =+-.
S x x x x
-
Me too :D
After a mamoth thunderstorm at lunchtime I'm now sitting on the patio in the sunshine :)
-
Lovely here to now. Had a heavy shower this morning and I got soaked :( S x x x x
-
:(
It keeps clouding over hete but so far no more rain, I wont have to water the pots tonight :)
Z xx
-
Same here, just have to water the baskets :). S x x x x
-
So much for plannng to take Tinka out for a drive this evening, we have a mega thunderstorm overhead with some of the biggest raindrops I've seen for years
-
Just had a light rain, really windy knocking all the plants about. Shame you can not go out for a drive with Tinker. S x x x x
-
Its really windy here too, really knocking everything around :(
There's always another day and she wont mind not workingfor her dinner :D
Z xx
-
Oh bless her :). S x x x x
-
Just touching 30C in the shade, phew
-
Really hot here as well. Poor mum was freezing when I picked her up. Soon warmed up when I got her in the car :). S x x x x
-
Your poor mum, hope she's not feeling too bad now xxxx
-
Still really hot and humid here. Yuk. Mum nice a warm now :). All tucked up safely in bed, put the fan on for her. S x x x x
-
So glad your mum is OK xxxx
Warm start already, going to do outside horsey jobs before it gets hot, I had intended to take Tinka out later but wont if its too hot as its not fair to ask her to work in a lot of heat
-
27C in the shade and its inly half past 9 :o
-
Just started pouring with rain here now. Thought I was hearing things ;). Just did all the watering as well. S x x x x
-
I didnt think rain was on the forecast, its dry here at the moment, although it was very cloudy when we took Tinka out
Z xxx
-
I didn't think so either. Boris the cat obviously didn't think so either, he just came haring in howling. He was not happy lol. S x x x x
-
Oh poor chap, I'll bet he wasnt
Y xxx
-
Around half past two the clouds lifted and we had a bit of sunshine, if I hadnt already started doing something I'd have taken Tinka out, good job I didnt, we had a mega thunderstorm thats still rumbling around, David had to rush over to my mum's to check she wasnt being flooded while I comforted Harry who was terrified.
-
Oh dear. We had a heavy shower while I was down town with mum, but we were just having a coffee so thankfully we stayed dry. S x x x x
-
At least I wont have to water the pots this evening!
Z xx
-
That is one blessing. It can be a real chore. S x x x x
-
It can at times
Z xx
-
My trailing Begonia's have at last started to flower outside the kitchen window, as has the Lobelia (first ever). But, everything has a poor display, both flowers and foliage all seem in miniature form... must be the bad start to summer.
Been torrential here all afternoon... love it, reminds me of Glasgow.
-
Some stuff has done well here, others have been a disaster, I guess we shouldnt moan too much as we dont get the wild extremes some countries do.
Cold, gloomy and windy here today, I plan to defrost the freezer and try to work out how to get music on the Mp3 player
-
Cannot decide what it wants to do here. Sun did try and come out but gave up :( S x x x x
-
Same here, its been raining steadily for a while here :(
Z xx

Making the most of some sunshine $%$
