When I was young I suffered with crippling shyness to the extent that my parents would invite children I knew from school to play with me.  Fortunately I had a few board games so that made it easier to start talking to other children.  My safe place was writing as I had a vivid imagination which was the start of having panic attacks as a friend found a book I was writing in.  She was surprised I snatched the book away and was flustered but shyness stopped me from explaining.]]>
