Covid jab maker debates
« on: February 20, 2021, 05:31:01 PM »
Over on Facebook there have been numerous debates about who gets which jab.

I've just had my first one and because of my allergies I had the Oxford Astra-Zeneca one "because it's used for people with known allergies" according to the two nurses doing it.

I obviously don't know about other places and people who have them, but the GP surgery and nurses administering it to me today said that after I told them about my allergy to dairy and reaction to peppermint.  Maybe other places have different guidelines, but I can only go by my experience this afternoon.

When I went for mine the doctor went through the 'important' questions with me which included allergies and any bad reactions to any jabs.  From what I've heard it's important to tell whoever is giving the jab of any allergies so I'm pleased you got the right jab.

Thank you Pip.  I've been having a really bad reaction to it since I had it yesterday though, so I'm wondering what the allergenic version would have been like   :(

It's hard to know as these are new jabs and it will take time to get right, I'm just glad that my main allergy is hayfever ones as I have weird and wonderful allergies I get occasionally.   The most common one is getting a rash from rubber watch straps although for years I was allergic to Daz washing powder.

Hayfever was the least of my worries lol

Do you still react to Daz now, or have they taken your allergen out of the recipe they use to make it?

Coming into contact with fir trees brings me out in an itchy rash, dairy makes me throw up violently and peppermint makes me hyper.
