Is it possible to recover from...
« on: June 19, 2019, 07:44:30 AM »
Just realised that I haven't had a single OCD thought since I came off the Citalopram last year.  I still appreciate certain things (things that end in 99 or an exact to the second time, for example) but I haven't been so obsessive about it for the last year and my spending (the compulsive part) is so much better now too!

Is it possible that I've recovered from the OCD part or will it always be hiding in the background, waiting to snap at my heels whenever it wants to, please?

Thank you!

I do believe that OCD is curable for want of a better word and very dependent on the individual  so yes I believe you have recovered from it.

Personally I found that I'm much better than I used to be although I still have the occasional flare up.  I have coping mechanisms which help stop it getting bad  .

Thank you Pip.  It's things like this that make me grateful for the memory problems lol
