Can I offer advice, Moody?... well, I will anyway. ::)

I would give a general and brief background of your depression.  Then explain you are waiting too long for therapy.... how you're desperate to explore issues, both, relating to your recent nightmare of a time and also probably other areas of your life that you wish to address.  Explain that someone told you of the possibility of applying for some funding for private therapy, and that you feel you could greatly benefit from such an opportunity, as your current income cannot afford

I think I remember Nick saying they will then send you a basic application form and when they receive it back, a short 10min telephone interview.

I'm not too bad with letter writing, so if you need any further help......

thanks Cat. Normally I am ok with these things and write well, just for some reason this time I drew a blank as what to say to them

Hi

Sorry for the delay getting back to you.  They are very approachable and informal.  Cat's advice is spot on.  I would put in exactly what you have in these posts.  That you're looking for more in-depth therapy and believe this is the approach for you and would like to explore this -can they help.  I think they have a list of registered therapists online, so this could help you track down a therapist in your area.

Good luck!  Happy to look over anything you drat if this would be helpful?

Nick
