I totally agree with Bookletters.  The higher dose maybe doesn't take as long because you were already on it, but it needs to be given a good few weeks.  Although, I'd hope you might start to feel the benefit quite soon.  Those little things might be so subtle that, at first, you don't notice.  For me, it's when I start to spring clean

Leo, you are at a very tough stage in depression.  Sometimes the AD's are our last hope and if they are not materialising as we expect, it's easy to talk ourselves further into a downer.  Give it a little more time, it'll work out.

I was on 75mg for 2 1/2 weeks and have now been on 150mg for 6 days and are not feeling any benefits yet. Will have to wait and see if venlafaxine is going to work for me because this is my 4th  AD in 8 months.

Venlafaxin often works where SRRI's don't Willows. I hope it does the trick for you. From what you have been writing on the forum I personally find you sounding quite a bit better than you were!! xx

Has anyone experienced involuntary body 'twitches' while being on ADs?

I have noticed this the past week when I'm trying to sleep, my arms and legs tend to twitch. It doesn't bother me, just something I never used to do.
I am only me. That is all I can be.
No more, no less, don't second guess.
I love, I live, I laugh, I cry.
I've wished sometimes that I could die.
Some days I'm funny, others I'm not.
Sometimes I'm in overdrive, and I can't stop.
You may not like me, but that's ok, because this is me and how ill stay.

Does anyone take their Venlafaxine at night?

I'm wondering if this will combat my tiredness throughout the day.

Leo, I've always swapped and changed the time I take any meds.  I think if you're feeling groggy in the daytime, take the AD last thing at night.  I always take my meds just as I'm going to bed.

The groggy feeling does subside with time

Swapped it to night time. Biggest problem is remembering to take the damn thing.

I forgotten take it the other day there and felt no ill effects......perhaps suggests this medication isn't working for me?

However, managing to stay awake some days.

Don't let it fool you, Leo.  If you suddenly stop, after 2-3-4 days, you'd feel like your brain was inside out.
