Two nurses came and took the tubes out of the IV then took me in a wheelchair to the shower room, I had to be wrapped in blankets first so that I didn't get cold. There was a large shower cubicle with a seat and a curtain. They helped in into the seat, got the shower head for me, untied my gown and closed the curtain. I was able to was and shower gel my body in private. I had to be carful not to get my canula wet. Then I wrapped a towel around me and they helped me dry and put on a fresh hospital gown. I was wrapped up in clean towels while they washed, shapooed and conditioned my hair. They then helped me over to the wheelchair and put me near the sink so I could brush my teeth. I was taken back to my room in the wheelchair where another nurse was changing the sheets on my bed. I was sat in the big chair next to my bed and given a pillow to support my head while the nurse blowdried and ran the straighteners through my hair. They last thing I wanted was to get into bed with wet, frizzy hair. I was then helped back into my clean bed and they inserted a fresh tube into the IV. I feel a little better now I'm all clean and fresh. I'm waiting for the doctor to come and give me my check up so that I can go to sleep.
