If I could I would sleep for hours, its very enjoyable but work gets in the way of my sleep time. I soon as come from work, I do house work, and then ake shower and eat dinner, then clean dishes, then get my work stuff ready for next day. Then its sleep thats the best part of my day.

I remember last Monday was the best sleep I had ever. I dont dream though.

Thanks

in response to an early post you made Zaf, I have dreamed of becoming a hermit many times but after my excursion to Italy for five weeks I realised it would be hard work. There are pros to living in a city. On days like today I wish I was away from everyone.

Also when I was out on Harris for 4 weeks, it was isolated but I should have been happy I had no internet or mobile phone signal but I wanted to go in the nearest village and use the library for internet and to get a signal on my phone. I think very few people can become true hermits, its a hard way of life.

My dream is a little place in Scotland on the edge of a lodge, probably not practical now we're getting older but its sometimes nice to dream :)

I would definitely miss the internet, I think I would feel very isolated without it.

Being Scottish, I've spent a lot of time touring the far north.  The west coast of scotland have some of the most amazing golden sand beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see.  Of course, it's cold (even in summer) so they do tend to be deserted.  I use to visit the Isle of Skye camping every year for 2wks.  It was before the mobile days, so my time was always completely secluded.  I reckon my temperament is well suited to the hermit existance

yes Cat there are some lovely beaches on the West Coast of Scotland eh. Have been a few place up there, was on Isle Of Rum with college for two weeks, Orkney for 3 weeks and 4 weeks on Harris. Also went to Ullapool and just north of there to Achmelvich which had a lovely, white sandy beach.

I think the long winters might get to me though. Its not easy. I sometimes wonder if I could survive up there somehow.

I love walking in Scotland, the solitude is one of the lovely things about it

I'd love to do that, but I live about 500 miles away so not possible at present.  Went to Dundee once with my dad in his taxi as he had a fare to go there!  We did a brief tour of Edinburgh and the east coast A1 but that was it.

Yes, Zaf, I'd really like to explore Scotland one day, do you go often?

We used to go once or twice a year despite the 9 hour journey, when my dad was taken terminally ill about 5 or 6 years ago we stopped but are due to go up for a week at the beginning of September  =+-

If you ever get a chance Beet do go, some of the wild empty places are fantastic
