Glad you are getting some treament started IceLolly. I agree with Zaf and think treating the depression first is a good idea.

What assessment is your doctor sending you for? I was diagnosed with depression three years ago but have never been sent for an assessment....

I don't really know what type of assessment it is Char. My doctor just told me that they are just going to ask me some questions. I'm not entirely sure, ill let you know if I find out any more about it x

You should get it checked out.  I get the physical symptoms but under no circumstances do i think the physical symptoms have anything to do with depression not in a million years. okay if my sleep is poor then yeah i would agree I get physically shattered but that's simples right and I get headaches frequently but that due  me often working late at night.
There's always a physical cause for symptoms like what you are describing

Munchroom, I bet that's a horrible feeling. :(

Emmietaylor, I have had loads of bloodwork done but the doctor hasn't found anything yet. She thinks I could have ME but is treating me for depression first to see if that improves my phsycial symptoms x

Just wondering how you are getting on IceLollyx?

I went back to the doctors last week and had a different doctor due to running late or something and I'm glad I did. The doctor I had was so much more approachable and willing to listen to how I felt. I actually broached the subject of ME and she said it is worth considering but like you it would make sense to treat the depression first and go from there. There doesn't seem to be any specific treatment for ME but just treatment to manage the specific symptoms you have as everyone is different. She explained the main sign that it is ME causing fatigue rather than depression is that physical activity makes the fatigue worse in ME whereas it can improve in depression with physical activity. I keep meaning to keep a diary of my symptoms but I get so many in a day and so often it is inconvenient and time consuming! Not sure how else to monitor them. Perhaps a dictaphone would speed things up?!

I hope things are going well for you and keep sharing.
