dr appointment
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:15:11 AM »
Hi further to my posts yesterday. I have just rang the dr's surgery and have an appointment for 9.10 this morning.  Thank god. Had an awful night was awake every hour.  My sister is coming with me as I probably wont be able to speak for crying and I am a shaking mess.  But at least I feel I am doing something to beat this awful depression.  I know its a long road and I have to take baby steps but I am starting.

Will post again when I get back.

Thanks so much Zaf, just got in, dr was so nice asked loads of questions, my sister had to answer most as I just broke down.  He has put me back on Duloxetine and has also given me clonazepam to help get through the next couple of weeks till meds kick in.  Was happy giving me them as I had them before from phych doc and knows I will not abuse them.

Did ask about councelling said to get on nhs would be a years wait! crazy.  I mentioned  that I also went to MIND last episode I had, so he said try them again, its only about £15 per session rather than going privately as I did before and that was £45 per session.

At least I feel I have started my journey to feeling somewhere near normal again.  I know its a long road but with baby steps I will make it.

Once again thank you for your support and I hope that I may help others here too.

Well done, that was really positive of you even though you broke down,  I've done exactly the same in the doctor's surgery myself so there is no shame in that at all.

You know it'll probably be a long hard journey but everyone here will support you when you need it, I honestly dont think I would have got anywhere near recovering so quickly if it hadnt been for all the lovely people here xx

Thanx again.  My main reason for joining this forum was for support and hopefully being able to support others when I can.  Just talking with people that understand just how I am feeling helps so much.  Just emailed MIND for details of any counselling they offer or courses they run.  So at least I feel I am being pro-active.

Thanx for the bee he's lovely.  Just been to see my mum to fill her in on how I got on at the dr's and had a good cry lol.  Had a message from MIND when I got back on answer machine about counselling, shes not in her office today in my home town but she is going to try again later and again tomorrow, but she left a number for me to ring her tomorrow anyway.  So positive steps.

Thanx I do feel proud of myself. I feel more positive now, as I have said I know its a long road as I know when I suffered last time, but I have started the journey.  Even managed a walk with my girls (dogs lol) my sister came over and we nearly got blown across the fields!  I am glad she came as it gives me motivation to get out.  But as I have said previously she suffers from depression too so we are there to support each other when we need it.
