I wish I understood better
« on: October 18, 2011, 07:07:32 PM »
Today I was OK, a bit tired and quite busy but OK, suddenly for no obvious reason I was near to tears, it lasted about an hour then I got really irritible, now I'm back feeling tearful again and I still have no idea why I should get such a sudden mood change :(

Oh dear Zaf! I'm sorry what a horrible experience! I was so pleased you felt ok this morning that must have been so diappointing for you! When one is first diagnosed with depression, what you experienced is often a 1st symptom that one arrives at the doctors confused about! I wonder if either your meds need a tweak, or, possibly you have come so far that you are back at that stage again! Which would be great wouldn't it!!!?

Put it in your diary and see if you can make a pattern about it.

As I understand the recovery phase of depression, and did experience this myself once off meds completely, the body kind of misfires emotions a few times before getting it right again. If I was sad I would panic or get nervous, if I was nervous I burst into tears, that kind of thing. You have come so far in last few months that I wonder if you are starting to overtake your med dose and feel things again?

Its a good idea to make a note of it lol, thanks for the suggestion :)

I'm used to the ups and downs of depression but not such lightening quick mood swings so it came as a bit of a shock, looking back at the last couple of days I think it may be work/stress related but if the feelings persist I'll make an appointment to see my GP and possibly my counsellor.  It would be great if I had got back to the beginning stage but I dont ever remember it happening like this before.

i'm not feeling too bad again now apart from a tiny bit irritable, hopefully it was just a small blip :)

Glad it was a small blip Zaf, I hate those feelings, I have not been too down for a few days! Maybe the extra medication.
I think making notes is a brill idea, the trouble is I always forget to do it !!

I think I know what caused it but not why - I had been taking 2-3 hours off in the afternoons for meditation and to chill, I missed meditating for 3 days, I did take time off at home but didnt meditate, it seems to be too much of a coincidence to have a sudden blip after changing my routine like that.  It would be interesting to see if it happened again but I think for the time being at least I'll be strict and do that medittion!

Sounds like you might be on to something Zaf! Good work detective!!! I hope things are a little more even once you sort out your routine again.  :)

Thanks lol, it'll be intertesting to see if continuing with meditating keeps the blips at bay :)

Good grief I feel like someone out of Star Trek!
