Sadness

There is a sadness in my heart today,
Like a weight that wont go away,
We argued recently over something stupid,
Trying to make amends is the hardest bit.

How can I reach out to you if you wont talk?
How do I let you know I love you so?
Your silence hurts me to a core deep down,
I would gladly be swallowed deep underground.

The sadness will go away one day,
When we learn what to say,
The things that matter without anger,
Until that day the sadness hungers.
