Feeling a little low
« on: August 28, 2012, 09:56:48 AM »
Hi All

I have been reading some of the threads here for a while and thought it was about time I wrote something.

I have been depressed for about 2 years and at times it has been quite bad. i was off work for 5 months at the start but i have now been back to work for aboutr 18 months.

I just feel that things are getting on top of me again. i dont seem to have any enthusiasm for anything and I am finding it very hard to motivate myself to do anything both at work and at home. Normally I limp through my work day pretending to do things but really I am just watching the minutes pass by until I go home. this in itself makes me very tired and I feel rubbish when I get into the house. Then I just lie about and watch Tv until its time to go to bed.

I am on anti-depressents but they dont seem to be working at the moment. I have a doctors appointment booked and will see him shortly. i just wish I could find something that would interest me and take my mind off work and worrying about being depressed.

My partner is very supportive but I cant help feeling that she is being affected by this also. I dont have any close friends or family that I feel I can discuss this with. i find it very difficult as I dont know what the problem is so explaining it to others is near impossible. it would be easier if I could pinpoint what the root cause is but I cant seem to be able to do this.

Really I have nothing to feel depressed about and it is very hard to understand why I feel this way.

Sorry for the drivel above I just hope that writing this down will help me move forward.

Regards

P..

Hi and welcome  *()

I dont think we always need to have a reason for being depressed any more than other illnesses,  its good you're going to see your doctor - it may be that your medication has started to have less effect so a tweak on the dosage or a change of the type you're taking may well get you back on track.

Hello and welcome :). Depression can hit anyone at anytime, there does not always have to be a reason. Hopefully your Dr can help by altering or changing your meds. S x x x x

Hi. It's good to hear from you. That's not drivel - it's very real, and you have helped me, as so many people on this site have, by actually putting into words some difficulty that I have experienced myself. I spend a lot of time trying to pinpoint where my problems have come from, and doubting whether they're real. Thank you so much for posting and helping me.  +-_  I'm sure that the wonderful people on this site can give you comfort and support, and ideas. Best wishes.
