could use some adive and support if any is going spare
« on: April 30, 2012, 10:39:34 PM »
I am having some problems with work refusing to acknowledge that I have protected characteristics because Occupational health deemed me not to be covered by the equalities act.

I have to see my doctor tomorrow to ask her to write a letter to confirm I am suffering from depression and anxiety even though it is on my fit notes.

I have no idea how to ask her or even if I have the right to. I dont know what to do about work the union are suggesting filing a grievance but all I really want is some one to accept that there behaviour is the reason this happened .

Any suggestions how I go about getting this sorted ?

Thanks

I can't believe your work are doing that!  A fit note stating your illness should be suffcient.  I am also off with depression and anxiety and my firm have accepted the fit note and will pay me ssp. I would certainly do ahead with a grievance is I was you.
