I agree with above, its baby steps especially to start with, just try and do a bit each day, nothing to big.  Rest seems to be the best thing to conquer this awful illness and not ask to much of yourself.  It has taken me a long time to realise this, as before i would try and push myself and this is not the thing to do.

Take care

Thank you my friends. Your help, advice and understanding means a lot to me and makes the situation more bearable and knowing I'm not alone in this. Will be taking small steps .......... Once the medication takes effect, will I be feeling normal again?

It can take a fair bit of time to feel normal sometimes :(

It should start with small things, I remember when I found myself singing to a cd in the car and thinking 'oh my god I am singing'.  A small thing but it meant a lot.

You also may start having good days and then have a bad one, just try not to feel too disappointed.

In my 6th week of Prozac!!! Doubled the dosage from 20mg to 40mg for the past week. Shouldn't I be feeling even a bit better yet?? Oh, to-day was really a bad day ........... My wife also now starting to crack up too.... can't blame her. Took 5mg Diazapam a few hours ago; now feeling like a zombie ....

The increased dose can take 2-3 weeks to kick in from my experience, if you feel no imprvement after that time you need to go back to your GP.

When I was on prozac, my gp and counsellor told me it is quite slow to get going, around 8 weeks, they didn't put my dosage up until then.  The increases also take a while to kick in.

Hang in there.
