As of about 5 or 10 minutes ago, I now have total approval from my GP to totally come off the Citalopram. Even suddenly like I did! He said I might "feel a bit woozy for a while" because of such a sudden and huge drop (I was on the maximum dose) but that if I stick with it and look after myself during the woozy times, he's totally fine with me coming off it totally, for the first time since about this date back in 2003.
I'm thinking that the coughing, sore throat and croaky voice are the initial withdrawal symptoms because they started within hours of me missing my first dose. I had "the trots" (the hubby's way of spelling the d word that no-one can spell lol) two days after but that cleared up really quickly too... just need to keep dosing myself up with the hot honey drink to ease my throat and sit it out, but right now I'm on top of the world!
On a scale of 1-10 I'm at 11 right now!!
If it can happen for me then it can happen for you too... just follow your doctor's advice about coming off your meds when you feel ready to give it a go!
