What online tests do you recommend?
« on: November 05, 2012, 10:14:30 PM »
I know they are not the most accurate things! I just am following the advice I have recieved about printing off some of my results from various tests to bring to my doctors appointment tomorrow. Hopefully this will help me because I am not good at talking about my feelings or about anything at all personal really!
So what do you think are the most accurate tests out there? Can you please give me links? Thank you

Have you been to your Doctors yet? They tend to give you questionnaires and review your responses against a chart to diagnose you

The questionnaire used for depression is "Patient Health questionnaire PH-9"

Good idea to print it and show it to your doc xx

Yes, GPs, CBT counsellors etc use them.
They used to use the "Hamilton" test but that wasn't as detailed.

Thank you, I have printed that questionaire out. Did anyone else have trouble talking about their symptoms and feelings when they went to the doctors? If so, do you have any tips that will help me? I get really anxious when people ask me about personal stuff :S

Of course, it is never easy.
Just remember that it is an illness and describe your symptoms like you would with a physical illness. Say "I have been feeling...." and I have been thinking "..." "I am wondering if I don't have depression because "...."
A good GP will listen and help you xx
