Useful websites + books - please feel free to add
« on: October 27, 2012, 01:49:38 PM »
What is helping me deal with depression:
- http://www.getselfhelp.co.uk/ (tons of CBT worksheets)
- Mood Gym website (free CBT course) https://moodgym.anu.edu.au/welcome
- "Depressive Illness the Curse of the Strong" by Dr Cantopher (psydoc). I particularly like to re-read the section on "recovering" as it shows you a graph on ups and downs + tells you what to do to help
- "The 10 Best-Ever Depression Management Techniques: Understanding How Your Brain Makes You Depressed & What You Can Do to Change" (useful toolbox)

What hasn't helped:
- Depression for Dummies (made me feel even more depressed!!!)

What about you guys?

Mood gym is very good!
Glad counselling helped you Zaf, I too have had excellent counselling in the past. Think when I can afford it, need to find a good therapist for long term counselling... xx
